Introduction Eating disorders (EDs) are serious psychological problems that affect not only the individual, but also their entire environment. The prevalence rates of EDs higher among adolescent population. A better understanding ED risk factors is essential to design effective prevention and intervention programs focus beyond areas weight appearance. Methods main objective this systematic review was identify provide a comprehensive approach, analyzing interplay between individuals, inner circle, society characteristics. Web Science, Scopus, CENTRAL PsycInfo databases were searched. Results initial search produced 8,178 references. After removing duplicates performing selection process by three independent reviewers, 42 articles included in according pre-specified inclusion criteria. results suggest relevance circle on development EDs. Discussion internalization thin ideal, promoted current society, living an unsupportive, unaffectionate, non-cohesive environment associated with onset symptomatology.
