Abstract
Bacterial
infections
pose
a
serious
threat
to
human
health.
While
antibiotics
have
been
effective
in
treating
bacterial
infectious
diseases,
antibiotic
resistance
significantly
reduces
their
effectiveness.
Therefore,
it
is
crucial
develop
new
and
antimicrobial
strategies.
Metal–organic
frameworks
(MOFs)
become
ideal
nanomaterials
for
various
applications
due
crystalline
porous
structure,
tunable
size,
good
mechanical
stability,
large
surface
area,
chemical
stability.
Importantly,
the
performance
of
MOFs
can
be
adjusted
by
changing
synthesis
steps
conditions.
Pure
release
metal
ions
modulate
cellular
behaviors
kill
microorganisms.
Additionally,
act
as
carriers
delivering
agents
desired
manner.
Furthermore,
certain
types
combined
with
traditional
photothermal
or
other
physical
stimuli
achieve
broad-spectrum
activity.
Recently
an
increasing
number
researchers
conducted
many
studies
on
applying
diseases

infections.

we

study

current
status

Antibacterial
photodynamic
therapy
(aPDT)

next‐generation
