In this study, based on the 2022 National Health and Aging Trend Study ( N = 5,593, age 65+), we examined direct associations between moderate vigorous physical exercise (PE) depressive/anxiety symptoms as well bothersome pain sleep problems. We then if association PE would be partially mediated by effects of Results from a path model showed that controlling for sociodemographic health statuses, was negatively associated with pain, but it not significantly The mediation analysis 10% total indirect pain. This study is important among PE, sleep, depression/anxiety in community-dwelling older adults their natural environments. Healthcare social service providers need to emphasize importance benefits adults’ mental health. Easy access venues also important.

Abstract Background Biological ageing is tightly linked to cardiovascular disease (CVD). We aimed investigate the relationship between Life’s Essential 8 (LE8), a currently updated measure of health (CVH), and biological ageing. Methods This cross-sectional study selected adults ≥ 20 years age from 2005–2010 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey. LE8 scores (range 0–100) were obtained measurements based on American Heart Association definitions, divided into behavior factor scores. was assessed by different methods including phenotypic age, acceleration (PhenoAgeAccel), (BioAgeAccel). Correlations analyzed weighted linear regression restricted cubic spline models. Results Of 11,729 participants included, mean 47.41 ± 0.36 5983 (51.01%) female. The ages 42.96 0.41 46.75 0.39 years, respectively, score 67.71 0.35. After adjusting for potential confounders, higher associated with lower PhenoAgeAccel, BioAgeAccel, nonlinear dose–response relationships. Negative associations also found ageing, stronger factors. In factor-specific analyses, β negativity greater blood glucose pressure. inverse correlations in stratified analyses remained solid across strata. Conclusions its subscale strongly negatively related Encouraging optimal CVH levels may be advantageous preventing slowing down

Cognitive impairment and dementia are burgeoning public health concerns, especially given the increasing longevity of global population. These conditions not only affect quality life individuals their families, but also pose significant economic burdens on healthcare systems. In this context, our comprehensive narrative review critically examines role nutritional supplements in mitigating cognitive decline. Amidst growing interest non-pharmacological interventions for enhancement, delves into efficacy vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, other dietary supplements. Through a systematic evaluation randomized controlled trials, observational studies, meta-analysis, focuses outcomes such as memory attention improvement, executive function support, neuroprotection. The findings suggest complex interplay between supplementation health, with some showing promising results others displaying limited or context-dependent effectiveness. highlights importance dosage, bioavailability, individual differences response to supplementation. Additionally, it addresses safety concerns potential interactions conventional treatments. By providing clear overview current scientific knowledge, aims guide professionals researchers making informed decisions about use health.

Longevity is rightly considered one of the greatest achievements modern society, not only as a function lifespan, but, more importantly, healthspan. There are Blue Zones (LBZs), regions around world, such in Okinawa, Japan; Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica; Loma Linda, California; Icaria, Greece; and Ogliastra, Sardinia, that characterized by significant percentage residents who live exceptionally long lives, often avoiding age-related disability to significantly higher degree than Western way life. universal phenomenon, so if there places world with characteristics similar LBZs, it important identify them order better understand what other factors, addition known ones, might contribute healthy This narrative review aims common factors between Cilento five taking into account environmental, nutritional, lifestyle factors. Articles from 2004 present, limited studies published English, German, Italian, were searched PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Google Scholar. The co-authors agreed on 18 final reference texts. In evaluate similarities descriptive comparative approach was used. LBZs share several including hilly altitude ranging 355 600 m; mild climate throughout year, temperatures 17.4 23.5 degrees Celsius; traditional professions, agriculture animal husbandry; predominantly Mediterranean or plant-based diet, typical recipes based legumes, tubers, vegetables, extra virgin olive oil. Additionally, maintenance strong intergenerational family relationships, religious devotion, social relationships within community also prevalent. Given Cilento, wonder this an LBZ waiting be discovered. lessons learned discovery could applied general population protect non-communicable chronic diseases help slow aging process.

Abstract Europe is experiencing a significant demographic shift, with aging populations posing economic and social challenges due to increased healthcare costs higher prevalence of age-related diseases. Hungary, in particular, faces these acutely morbidity mortality rates from range chronic diseases behavioral risk factors. Addressing issues requires innovative approaches promote healthy aging. Semmelweis University, the largest provider leading health sciences university region, developing comprehensive program. A critical pillar this program Semmelweis-EUniWell Workplace Health Promotion Model Program, pioneering initiative aimed at tackling unhealthy within Hungary’s workforce by leveraging workplace as platform for promotion. Central program’s goal combating sedentary lifestyles—a contributor issues—is use micro-gyms motivational interviewing. Micro-gyms, their compact size accessibility, provide convenient exercise opportunities, while interviewing fosters intrinsic motivation personalized counseling encourage sustained physical activity. Through concerted efforts approaches, including implementation micro-gyms, Program aims set benchmark promotion, fostering healthier more resilient population Hungary. This not only enhances well-being employees University its EUniWell partner institutions but also catalyzes broader transformations promotion nationwide.
