This cross-sectional study aims to investigate the impact of psychological distress experienced during second wave COVID-19 pandemic on emotional eating and assess mediating role dysregulation in a sample Italian young adults (20–35). A total 437 participants provided demographical data were assessed using Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, Difficulties Emotion Regulation Emotional Eating subscale Dutch Behavior Questionnaire. Correlational analyses performed relationship between continuous variables, while ANOVA was conducted detect differences males females for eating. To whether demographic clinical predicted eating, hierarchical linear regression performed. Then, mediation analysis mediator associated with dysregulation. Moreover, higher levels found than males. The model explained 26.8% (R2 0.2680) variance. These findings may help plan develop interventions aimed at addressing targeting

Background: Existing evidence showed that social anxiety represents a significant factor in eating disorders. However, to our knowledge, no prior study has examined the association between and drunkorexia behaviors. Objectives: The present aimed at exploring relationship behaviors, investigating resilience as moderator of this relationship. Participants were 333 adolescents young adults aged 15–24 years (Mage=18.26, SDage= 1.55; 66% females) who completed an online survey. Results: results indicated behaviors positively correlated three dimensions anxiety; however, only fear negative evaluation had predictive effect. In addition, moderated such youths reporting high low greater whereas correlation Conclusions: findings highlight importance interventions preventive measures strengthening youths' ability effectively manage stress (i.e., evaluation).

The COVID-19 lockdown measures have had a significant impact on risk behaviors as alcohol use and disordered eating. However, little is known about serious health-risk-behavior named "food disturbance" (FAD), characterized by engaging in dysfunctional eating days of planned consumption. aim the present study was to investigate potential factors that may put young adults at or protected against FAD during lockdown.A sample 447 (280 females, 167 males; range 18-26) completed an online survey country's nationwide composed self-reported assessing behaviors, consumption, compensatory weight concerns, social support, emotion regulation strategies, living arrangement. Our findings showed significantly positively correlated laxatives, self-induced vomiting, expressive suppression, negatively support with family. Hierarchical regression analysis revealed concern, expression suppression predicted FAD, while family were negative predictors. Our results suggest lockdown, preoccupation increased vulnerability FAD; conversely, perceived been source protection this behavior.Level V, descriptive study.

Search terms included: drunkorexia, "food disturbance," "compensatory behavior" AND eating.Issues with methodological quality noted. Most studies used quantitative methods cross-sectional designs small, biased samples. Terminologies, conceptualizations, measures varied; however, 30% neglected enhanced intoxication effects. In this study, we aim to describe prevalence, characteristics FAD problem drinking (PD) eating disorder risk (EDR) a sample Italian high school students. Participants were 900 students (53.6% males; mean age = 16.22) that administered standardized questionnaires. Students who screened positive for PD, EDR both were, respectively, 17.3%, 5.9% 1.3%. Approximately one out four reported behaviors, control weight higher prevalence severity among those PD. Purging rare overall (15.5%), but significantly more frequent participants PD (41.7%). was strongly associated than ED symptom across all subgroups. appear be common population Future studies should investigate FAD's impact adolescents' functioning possible early interventions.
