Current treatment strategies for parasitic infectious diseases in crucian carp primarily rely on chemotherapy. As a commonly used antiparasitic agent, deltamethrin (DEL) may have the potential adverse effects external mucosa of fish such as gills. In this study, 180 healthy juvenile (Carassius auratus) (average weight: 8.8 ± 1.0 g) were randomly divided into three groups 28 days, which immersed 0 μg/L, 0.3 and 0.6 μg/L DEL, respectively. The results histological analysis revealed that severe hyperplasia secondary lamellae gills was observed, number goblet (mucus-secreting) cells increased significantly after DEL immersion. TUNEL staining indicated apoptotic gill. At molecular level, mRNA expression significant upregulation apoptosis (caspase 3, caspase 8, bax), autophagy (atg5 beclin-1), immune response (lzm, muc5, il-6, il-8, il-10, tnfα, ifnγ, tgfβ, tlr4, myd88, nf-kb), whereas tight junction-related genes (occludin claudin12) downregulated immersion, suggesting immersion altered innate immunity responses promoted mucus secretion. Moreover, tandem mass tag (TMT)-based proteomics total 428 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) contained 341 upregulated DEPs 87 with function annotation identified between control groups. Functional analyses enriched process, phagosome, lysosome pathways. Additionally, also drove gill microbiota to dysbiosis an increase potentially harmful bacteria Flavobacterium. Overall, study showed elicited shifts changes surface fish. These provide new perspectives conventional anthelmintic concentration disorder microenvironment theoretical support future optimization their practical application.

4-tert-butylphenol (4-tBP) is a toxic environmental pollutant with moderate bioaccumulation, persistence, and long-term toxicity. Its toxicity to aquatic organisms has become an issue of concern. However, the molecular mechanism 4-tBP remained unclear. Liver target organ for pollutants. Here, we established 4-tBP-exposed model in vivo primary hepatocyte vitro common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). We found increased hepatic-somatic index (HSI) abnormal serum biochemical indexes (ALT, AST, LDH) after exposure, indicating liver damage. further revealed that damaged structural integrity livers typical features ferroptosis. Based on toxicogenomics analysis, ferroptosis likely be involved 4-tBP-induced Moreover, our experiment provided evidences 4-tBP-exposure led excess oxidative stress, iron overload, decreased MMP, expression ferroptosis-related factors. Interestingly, ferrostatin-1 (Fer-1, inhibitor) pretreatment alleviated above changes. In summary, demonstrated triggered hepatocytes via SLC7A11/GSH/GPX4 axis, ATF4/HSPA5/GPX4 axis. For first time, discovered Fer-1 can ameliorate 4-tBP, which needs more investigations. Our results scientific basis fish poisoning.

Nanoplastics (NPs, < 1 μm) have attracted widespread attention due to their potential threats organisms, ecosystem, and public health. However, there is limited research on the effects of NPs cephalopods. Sepia esculenta (Mollusks, Cephalopoda, Sepioidea), an economically major species Sepiidea family in world, well received by consumers for its delicious quality rich nutrition. In present study, S. larvae were treated with polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs) at 50 μg/mL 4 h, then physiological biomarkers (SOD, GSTs MDA) RNA-Seq whole body performed. Research results suggested that PS-NPs exposure had induced oxidative stress larvae. addition, several key genes signaling pathways related obtained based DEGs, GO KEGG enrichment analyses, as PPI construction analysis transcriptome data. This study enriches different organisms provides insights references revealing mechanisms caused molecular level.

Aquatic organisms such as fish can accumulate high concentrations of arsenic (As), which has toxic effects on fish. However, whether the intestinal flora are involved in As damage to tissues and underlying process unclear. Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) were exposed (2.83 mg/L) water for 30 days, blood, muscle, intestine, intestine samples collected. Intestinal pathological sections observed, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels serum accumulation tight junction-related factors measured. The gut microbiota was analysed by 16S rRNA sequencing. results showed that treatment decreased abundance microbiota, increased number harmful bacteria, beneficial bacteria intestine. In our experiment, top with highest relative identified. Among resulted a significant (P < 0.05) increase (such Fusobacteriota, Bacteroidota (LPS-producing bacteria), Verrucomicrobiota, Bacteroides, Aeromonas, Stenotrophomonas) decrease Actinobacteriota, Planctomycetota, Firmicutes, Reyranella, Akkermansia, Pseudorhodobacter), further demonstrated affects flora. addition, exposure LPS level bacteria) exhibits six at phylum level, indicates produced serum. Additionally, protein gene junction markers ZO-1 occludin reduced treatment, indicated impaired structural integrity conclusion, obtained study indicate flora, LPS, junctions participate impairment common resulting from exposure.

Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharide (PSP) has demonstrated diverse medicinal properties, extensively researched for human applications. Nonetheless, there is a lack of studies investigating the potential advantages PSP in poultry farming. The present study investigated impact incorporating into broiler diets on their growth performance, meat quality, blood metabolites, antioxidative status, and ileal histomorphology. Two hundred forty-one-day-old male Ross-308 chicks (44.98 ± 0.79 g) were randomly assigned to 3 experimental groups, with 8 replicates 10 birds each. fed supplemented at 0, 400, 800 mg/kg (control, PSP400, PSP800, respectively). results revealed linear (P > 0.05) improvement body weight gain, European production efficiency index, feed conversion ratio during grower (22-35 d) overall periods (1-35 d). pH levels ingluvies, ileum, cecum exhibited reduction PSP800 group d 21 35, respectively. In the last decades, pharmaceuticals have emerged as a new class of environmental contaminants. Antihypertensives, including angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, are special concern due to their increased consumption over past years. However, available data on putative effects health aquatic animals, well possible interaction with biological systems still poorly understood. This study analysed whether and which extent exposure Enalapril, an ACE inhibitor commonly used for treating hypertension heart failure, may induce morpho-functional alterations in mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis, sentinel organism water pollution. By mainly focusing digestive gland (DG), target tissue analysing xenobiotics mussels, 10-days 0.6 ng/L (E1) 600 (E2) Enalapril were investigated terms cell viability volume regulation, morphology, oxidative stress, stress protein expression localization.
