Current
treatment
strategies
for
parasitic
infectious
diseases
in
crucian
carp
primarily
rely
on
chemotherapy.
As
a
commonly
used
antiparasitic
agent,
deltamethrin
(DEL)
may
have
the
potential
adverse
effects
external
mucosa
of
fish
such
as
gills.
In
this
study,
180
healthy
juvenile
(Carassius
auratus)
(average
weight:
8.8
±
1.0
g)
were
randomly
divided
into
three
groups
28
days,
which
immersed
0
μg/L,
0.3
and
0.6
μg/L
DEL,
respectively.
The
results
histological
analysis
revealed
that
severe
hyperplasia
secondary
lamellae
gills
was
observed,
number
goblet
(mucus-secreting)
cells
increased
significantly
after
DEL
immersion.
TUNEL
staining
indicated
apoptotic
gill.
At
molecular
level,
mRNA
expression
significant
upregulation
apoptosis

autophagy

beclin-1),
immune
response

tight
junction-related
genes
(occludin
claudin12)
downregulated
immersion,
suggesting
immersion
altered
innate
immunity
responses
promoted
mucus
secretion.
Moreover,
tandem
mass
tag
(TMT)-based
proteomics
total
428
differentially
expressed
proteins
(DEPs)
contained
341
upregulated
DEPs
87
with
function
annotation
identified
between
control
groups.
Functional
analyses
enriched
process,
phagosome,
lysosome
pathways.
Additionally,
also
drove
gill
microbiota
to
dysbiosis
an
increase
potentially
harmful
bacteria
Flavobacterium.
Overall,
study
showed

4-tert-butylphenol
(4-tBP)
is
a
toxic
environmental
pollutant
with
moderate
bioaccumulation,
persistence,
and
long-term
toxicity.
Its
toxicity
to
aquatic
organisms
has
become
an
issue
of
concern.
However,
the
molecular
mechanism
4-tBP
remained
unclear.
Liver
target
organ
for
pollutants.
Here,
we
established
4-tBP-exposed
model
in
vivo
primary
hepatocyte
vitro
common
carp
(Cyprinus
carpio
L.).
We
found
increased
hepatic-somatic
index
(HSI)
abnormal
serum
biochemical
indexes
(ALT,
AST,
LDH)
after
exposure,
indicating
liver
damage.
further
revealed
that
damaged
structural
integrity
livers
typical
features
ferroptosis.
Based
on
toxicogenomics
analysis,
ferroptosis
likely
be
involved
4-tBP-induced
Moreover,
our
experiment
provided
evidences
4-tBP-exposure
led
excess
oxidative
stress,
iron
overload,
decreased
MMP,
expression
ferroptosis-related
factors.
Interestingly,
ferrostatin-1
(Fer-1,
inhibitor)
pretreatment
alleviated
above
changes.
In
summary,
demonstrated
triggered
hepatocytes
via
SLC7A11/GSH/GPX4
axis,
ATF4/HSPA5/GPX4
axis.
For
first
time,
discovered
Fer-1
can
ameliorate
4-tBP,
which
needs
more
investigations.

Nanoplastics
(NPs,

attracted
widespread
attention

their
potential
threats
