ABSTRACT Given the burgeoning Nyctereutes procyonoides breeding industry and its growing scale, it is imperative to investigate impact of high-fat diets on health these animals. This study involved 30 male comparable weights (3 kg ±0.5), randomly assigned either a control group or diet ( n = 15 each). The latter was fed mixture lard basal in 2:5 ratio, establishing model procyonoides. induced diarrhea histopathological changes Analysis small intestine contents using 16S rRNA sequencing revealed diet-induced disruption gut microbiota. Specifically, Escherichia-Shigella emerged as biomarker P 0.049), while Vagococcus prevalent indicating significant increase harmful bacteria group. Furthermore, this disrupted flora correlated with inflammation oxidative stress, evidenced by marked increases TNF-α < 0.01), IL-1β 0.05), IL-6 0.05) levels, measured via q-PCR, Western blot, stress assays. In addition, q-PCR analysis upregulation apoptosis necrosis markers, including Bax, Caspase3, Caspase9, Caspase12, RIPK3, RIPK1 0.01 0.001), concurrent downregulation anti-apoptotic gene Bcl-2 0.01) group, consistent protein expression trends. These findings suggest that alters microbiome toward more bacterial composition, escalating inflammatory responses intestinal tissue permeability, culminating cell necrosis. IMPORTANCE examines Our research established diet, revealing impacts, such diarrhea, histological anomalies, alterations emphasize importance preventing issues promoting sustainable growth. They highlight microbiota overall animal health.

The combined pollution of microplastics (MPs) and sulfamethoxazole (SMZ) often occurs in aquatic ecosystems, posing a serious threat to animal human health. However, little is known about the liver damage caused by single or co-exposure MPs SMZ, its specific mechanisms are still poorly understood. In this study, we investigated effects 20 μm 80 nm SMZ both larval adult zebrafish models. Firstly, observed significant decrease number hepatocytes worsened following MPs. Additionally, macrophages neutrophils decreased, while expression inflammatory cytokines antioxidant enzyme activities increased after zebrafish. Transcriptome analysis revealed changes gene co-exposed groups, particularly processes related oxidation-reduction, response, MAPK signaling pathway Co-exposure also promoted hepatocyte apoptosis inhibited proliferation levels, which was associated with translocation Nrf2 from cytoplasm nucleus an increase protein levels NF-kB p65 Furthermore, our pharmacological experiments demonstrated that inhibiting ROS blocking partially rescued injury induced conclusion, findings suggest induces hepatic dysfunction through ROS-mediated This information provides novel insights into potential environmental risk hazardous pollutants co-existence ecosystems.

To explore the intergenerational cardiotoxicity of nanoplastics, maternal mice were exposed to 60 nm polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NP) during pregnancy and lactation. The results showed that PS-NP can enter hearts offspring induce myocardial fiber arrangement disorder, acidophilic degeneration cardiomyocytes, elevated creatine kinase isoenzymes (CK-MB) lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels after exposure at 100 mg/kg Mechanistically, KEGG analysis RNA sequencing participation hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) ferroptosis in PS-NP-induced cardiotoxicity. Key features ferroptosis, including Fe2+ accumulation, mitochondrial injury, oxidative stress, GPX4 downregulation, FTH1, ACSL4, SLC7A11 upregulation, detected. Furthermore, treatment upregulated expressions HIF-1α HO-1, be alleviated by inhibition using si-HIF-1α. This study provided an insightful reference for assessment PS-NP.

Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) is a global pollutant. When TBBPA absorbed by the body through various routes, it can have wide range of harmful effects on body. Green tea polyphenols (GTPs) act as antioxidants, resisting toxic animals. The and mechanisms GTP oxidative stress, inflammation apoptosis in mouse lung are unknown. Therefore, we established vivo vitro models exposure antagonism using C57 mice A549 cells examined expression factors related to autophagy, apoptosis. results study showed that increase reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels after decreased autophagy-related Beclin1, LC3-II, ATG3, ATG5, ATG7 ATG12 increased p62; stress inhibits autophagy levels. pro-inflammatory IL-1β, IL-6 TNF-α anti-inflammatory factor IL-10 activation NF-κB p65/TNF-α pathway. Bax, caspase-3, caspase-7 caspase-9 Bcl-2 activate apoptosis-related pathways. addition attenuated levels, restored inhibition reduced Our suggest attenuate modulating ROS, reducing increasing attenuating cells. These provide fundamental information for exploring antioxidant mechanism further studying TBBPA.

Microplastics biological toxicity, environmental persistence and chemicals have been paid widespread attention. exposed to chicken spleen injury of the specific mechanism is unclear. Thus, we randomly assigned chickens 4 groups: C (normal diet), L-MPs (1 mg/L), M-MPs (10 H-MPs (100 assessed damage after 42 d exposure. Morphologically, boundary between red white pulp was blurred, along with expansion pulp. It further speculated that microplastics induced mitochondrial dynamic homeostasis (Drp1 upgraded, Mfn1, Mfn2, OPA1 reduced), provoked apoptotic pathway (Bcl-2/Bax decreased, cytc, caspase3, caspase9 raised), resulting in redox imbalance lipid peroxide accumulation (MDA increased, CAT, GSH, T-AOC plummeted), stimulated ferroptosis (FTH1, GPX4, SLC7A11 decreased). Here explored impact polystyrene on spleen, as well programmed death (apoptosis ferroptosis) involved, regulative role mitochondria this process. This could be significant importance bridging gap laboratory research microplastics-induced chicken.
