Abstract
Background
Biguanide
(BG)
is
the
most-prescribed
oral
glucose-lowering
medication
worldwide
and
has
potential
for
further
therapeutic
applications.
The
Coronavirus
disease
2019
(COVID-19)
pandemic
a
global
public
health
emergency.
Nevertheless,
there
are
still
no
established
low-cost
treatments
against
COVID-19,
of
which
morbidity
mortality
rates
varing
from
country
to
country.
Therefore,
nationwide
study
COVID-19
affected
population
essential
explore
effect
BG
COVID-19.
Methods
From
inpatient
databases
in
Japan,
covering
period
September
2021
March
2023,
encompasses
era
following
development
vaccines,
we
extracted
data
168,370
patients
aged
20
under
80
years
who
were
suffered
diabetes
mellitus
treated
with
antidiabetic
agents.
primary
outcome
was
100-day
in-hospital
mortality,

ABSTRACT
Diabetic
cardiomyopathy
(DCM)
is
one
of
the
leading
causes
mortality
among
diabetic
patients.
Flavonoid
are
most
abundant
group
phytochemicals
in
fruits
and
vegetables,
have
received
increasing
interest
as
potential
chemopreventive
antidiabetic
agents.
Flavonoids
might
contribute
to
prevent
or
delay
DCM
by
regulating
cardiac
metabolism,
insulin
signaling,
oxidative
stress,
apoptosis,
autophagy,
inflammation.
Among
other
effects,
flavonoids
been
proved
enhance
glucose
uptake,
decrease
cellular
lipid
accumulation,
suppress
stress.
However,
mechanistic
basis
these
effects
not
fully
understood,
many
points
remain
be
clarified.

has
