The ability to gain spatiotemporal information, and in some cases achieve control, the context of drug delivery makes theranostic fluorescent probes an attractive intensely investigated research topic. This interest is reflected steep rise publications on topic that have appeared over past decade. Theranostic probes, their various incarnations, generally comprise a fluorophore linked masked drug, which released as result certain stimuli, with both intrinsic extrinsic stimuli being reported. release then signaled by emergence signal. Importantly, use appropriate fluorophores has enabled not only this emerging fluorescence marker for but also provided modalities useful photodynamic, photothermal, sonodynamic therapeutic applications. Abstract Bacteria can cause numerous infectious diseases and has been a major threat to human humans. Although antibiotics have partially succeeded in treating bacteria, owing antibiotic abuse, the emergence of multidrug‐resistant (MDR) bacteria drastically diminished their potency. Since invention laser, combination light photosensitizers, photodynamic therapy (PDT), become an effective noninvasive treatment along with photothermal (PTT), which heat is generated by nonradiative relaxation. Antimicrobial PDT PTT are emerging as treatments for bacterial infection, particularly against MDR bacteria. This mini review covers recent progresses treatment.

The limited signal of long-wavelength near-infrared-II (NIR-II, 900-1880 nm) fluorophores and the strong background caused by diffused photons make high-contrast fluorescence imaging in vivo with deep tissue disturbed still challenging. Here, we develop NIR-II fluorescent small molecules aggregation-induced emission properties, high brightness, maximal beyond 1200 nm enhancing electron-donating ability reducing donor-acceptor (D-A) distance, to complement scarce bright emissive organic dyes. convincing single-crystal evidence D-A-D molecular structure reveals inhibition π-π stacking ultralong packing distance exceeding 8 Å. delicately-designed nanofluorophores signals extending 1900 match background-suppressed window, enabling signal-to-background ratio image reach over 100 thickness ~4-6 mm. In addition, intraluminal lesions negatively stained can be identified almost zero background. This method provide new avenues for future design biomedical highly scattering tissues.

Abstract Conjugated polymers (CPs) have promising applications in biomedical fields, such as disease monitoring, real‐time imaging diagnosis, and treatment. As a luminescent material with tunable emission, high brightness excellent stability, CPs are widely used fluorescent probes biological detection imaging. Rational molecular design structural optimization broadened absorption/emission range of CPs, which more conductive for diagnosis precision therapy. This review provides comprehensive overview recent advances the application aiming to elucidate their functional relationships. The fluorescence properties mechanism signal amplification first discussed, followed by an elucidation emerging detection. Subsequently, CPs‐based systems therapeutic strategies illustrated systematically. Finally, advancements utilizing electroactive materials bioelectronic devices also investigated. Moreover, challenges outlooks medicine discussed. Through this systematic review, it is hoped highlight frontier progress promote new breakthroughs fundamental research clinical transformation.

Meso-substituted boron dipyrromethenes (BODIPYs) provide a potential and innovative strategy for the synergistic construction of aggregation-induced emission (AIE) probes fluorescent rotors monitoring cellular viscosity changes, which play critical roles in understanding function its closely associated diseases. Therefore, first time, BODIPY-based probe (1) with rotatable meso-benzothiazole group was rationally designed synthesized, showing both good viscosity-responsive AIE properties. Probe 1 through direct linkage thiazole group, showed nearly no low viscous solvents; however, strong at 534 nm appeared increased gradually increase viscosity, attributing to efficient restriction group. The intensity (log I534) displayed linear relationship η) range 0.59-945 cP methanol/glycerol mixtures. Interestingly, enhanced 70% water compared pure acetonitrile due inhibited rotations. Cellular imaging suggested that could successfully sense lysosomal changes induced by lipopolysaccharide, nystatin, temperature, dexamethasone living cells, be further applied autophagy tracing changes. As comparison, analogue 2 directly linking phenyl or we reported meso-benzothiazole-BODIPY-based rotor properties nervous autophagy, this work thus an design probes.
