In recent years, interest in the health effects of natural antioxidants has increased due to their safety and applicability cosmetic formulation. Nevertheless, efficacy vivo is less documented than prooxidant properties vivo. Plant extracts rich vitamins, flavonoids, phenolic compounds can induce oxidative damage by reacting with various biomolecules while also providing antioxidant properties. Because biological activities differ, effectiveness for slowing aging process remains unclear. This review article focuses on use skincare possible mechanisms underlying desired effect, along applications formulation limitations.

Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common bacterial isolates found in wounds. Thus, innovative dressings, such as hydrogels, are interesting vehicles for incorporating bioactive compounds like those from Melaleuca alternifolia essential oil (MaEO). In this study, we evaluated antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory potential MaEO incorporated into an alginate chitosan hydrogel treating wounds infected by S. aureus. The with 1% (HMa 1%) was homogeneous a bright pale-yellow color characteristic smell Melaleuca. incorporation does not affect stability hydrogel, which stable up to 90 days storage. Scanning electron microscopy analysis revealed that hydrogels showed irregular surfaces interconnected porous structures accumulations crystals distributed throughout formulation. HMa has high moisture content (95.1%) can absorb simulated wound fluid. Regarding effects, reduced growth ATCC 6538 both vitro conditions ex vivo model using porcine skin. addition, dairy topical treatment murine skin lesions induced significant reduction area, inflammation score, load, well tissue re-epithelialization modulation inflammatory mediators. Objectives: This study aimed to develop hesperidin solid lipid nanoparticles (HESP-SLNs) enhance their stability, solubility, and sustained release for wound healing; further enhancement was achieved through prepared nanostructured carriers (HESP-NLCs) using Tea Tree Oil (TTO) explore synergistic efficacy. Methods: A factorial design of 24 trials established evaluate the influence type (X1), conc (%) (X2), surfactant (X3), sonication amplitude (X4) HESP-SLNs on particle size (nm) (Y1), polydispersibility index (Y2), zeta potential (Y3), encapsulation efficiency (Y4). The optimized formula selected utilizing Design Expert® software version 13, which additionally enhanced by preparing TTO-loaded HESP-NLCs. In vitro release, Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy were carried out both nanoparticles. Cytotoxicity, in vivo wound-healing assessments, skin irritancy tests performed performance TTO-incorporated HESP-NLCs compared HESP-SLNs. Results: demonstrated PS (280 ± 1.35 nm), ZP (−39.4 0.92 mV), PDI (0.239 0.012), EE% (88.2 2.09%). NLCs Q6% (95.14%) vs. (79.69%), SLNs showed superior antimicrobial Both exhibited spherical morphology compatibility between HESP excipients. highest closure percentage, supported histological analysis inflammatory biomarker outcomes. Cytotoxicity evaluation 87% cell viability untreated HSF cells, test confirmed safety NLCs. It was found that propranolol hydrochloride (PNL), which is a beta-blocker used for hypertension treatment, has potent spermicidal activity through local anesthetic or beta-blocking effect on sperm cells subsequently it could be as contraceptive remedy. This study aimed to entrap PNL into invasomes (INVs) and then formulate locally acting gel. PNL-loaded mucoadhesive INVs were prepared via the thin-film hydration technique. The D-optimal design utilized fabricate employing lipid concentration (X1), terpenes (X2), type (X3), chitosan (X4) independent variables, while their impact observed entrapment efficiency percent (Y1; EE%), particle size (Y2; PS), zeta potential (Y3; ZP), amount of drug released after 6 h (Y4; Q6h). Design Expert® bestowed nominate desired formula. selected INV subjected further studies formulated gel ex-vivo in-vivo investigations. optimum showed spherical shape with EE% 65.01 ± 1.24%, PS 243.75 8.13 nm, PDI 0.203 0.01, ZP 49.80 0.42 mV, Q6h 53.16 0.73%. Differential scanning calorimetry asserted capability PNL. Permeation confirmed sustained INVs-gel compared PNL-gel, INVs, solution. Sperm motility assay proved potency inhibit motility. Besides, histopathological investigation verified tolerability INVs-gel. Taken together, gained data justified efficacy contraceptive.
