Abstract Using the Conservation of Resources (COR) theory, we aimed to determine whether university students' loss and gain in resources during pandemic mediated relationships between COVID‐19 exposure/concern depression anxiety. In 2021, 7013 Israeli students completed online questionnaires. We assessed data using structural equation modeling. found that resource was directly related concern ( β = 0.32, p < 0.001). Depression anxiety were both (depression: 0.75, 0.001; anxiety: 0.69, 0.001) 0.06, 0.12, Resource had an indirect effect on 0.24, 0.22, COR theory may help explain mechanisms behind mental health provides a framework better understand preparedness for future pandemics, epidemics, major disasters. This utilized data from 414 adults aged 20 years or older who completed an online survey during pandemic. Self-disclosure were measured mediating variables. The variables positively correlated with PTG. Empathy was support. After controlling for demographic covariates, results indicated mediated link in both parallel sequential fashion.
