Abstract Parental support helps children manage stress and regulate emotions. As mature, their need for parental evolves to align with age-specific developmental challenges. Previous studies have indicated that parent–child relationship as well learning motivation and academic self-efficacy is an influential factor of engagement, but the impact mechanism relevant factors needs to be explored. The purpose current study investigate how related engagement via mediating roles self-efficacy. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was adopted for analysis 280 participants from China. Results showed directly correlated with adolescents’ engagement. also indirectly predicted respectively sequentially. More importantly, it revealed direct effect much lower than total indirect effects which include motivation, self-efficacy, Among three effects, greatest. Parents play an important role in scaffolding autonomy and independence as their children transition to adulthood. In the digital age, mobile phones allow for increased connection at this developmental transition, but we know little about extent which may help (i.e., through developmentally appropriate support) or hinder intrusiveness helicopter parenting) emerging adult (EA) development. We tested whether parent-EA interactions tapping engagement, monitoring, responsiveness were associated with EA perceptions of parental support a sample 238 college students ( M age = 19.85) who contributed all text messages exchanged parents over 2 weeks. Yogyakarta is a part of Javanese society. culture, which always enforces moral values, has practical implication toward adolescents' views about their self-identity. adolescents are well known to have positive self-identity, good behavior, and tend become successful persons in youth. In the past years, phenomenon youth gangs that often conduct irresponsible acts such as brawls, stabbing terror, even murder emerged.
