Nanoscale materials are increasingly found in consumer goods, electronics, and pharmaceuticals. While these particles interact with the body myriad ways, their beneficial and/or deleterious effects ultimately arise from interactions at cellular subcellular level. Nanoparticles (NPs) can modulate cell fate, induce or prevent mutations, initiate cell-cell communication, structure a manner dictated largely by phenomena nano-bio interface. Recent advances chemical synthesis have yielded new nanoscale precisely defined biochemical features, emerging analytical techniques shed light on nuanced context-dependent within cells. In this review, we provide an objective comprehensive account of our current understanding uptake NPs underlying parameters controlling nano-cellular interactions, along available to follow track processes.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been one of the most attractive nanomaterials in biomedicine due to their unique physicochemical properties. In this paper, we review state-of-the-art advances AgNPs synthesis methods, medical applications and biosafety AgNPs. The methods include physical, chemical biological routes. are mainly used for antimicrobial anticancer therapy, also applied promotion wound repair bone healing, or as vaccine adjuvant, anti-diabetic agent biosensors. This summarizes action mechanisms AgNPs, which involve release silver ions (Ag+), generation reactive oxygen species (ROS), destruction membrane structure. Despite these therapeutic benefits, safety problems such potential toxicity on cells, tissue, organs should be paid enough attention. Besides, briefly introduce a new type Ag particles smaller than Ångstrom (Å, 1 Å = 0.1 nm) (AgÅPs), exhibit better activity lower compared with Finally, conclude current challenges point out future development direction

Abstract Microbial colonization on material surfaces is ubiquitous. Biofilms derived from surface‐colonized microbes pose serious problems to the society both an economical perspective and a health concern. Incorporation of antimicrobial nanocompounds within or surface materials, by coatings, prevent microbial adhesion kill microorganisms after their attachment biofilms, represents important strategy in increasingly challenging field. Over last decade, many studies have been devoted preparing meta‐based nanomaterials that possess antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal activities combat pathogen‐related diseases. Herein, overview state‐of‐the‐art nanosized metal‐based compounds provided, including metal oxide nanoparticles as well transition nanosheets. The mechanism these nanostructures biomedical applications such catheters, implants, medical delivery systems, tissue engineering, dentistry are discussed. Their properties potential caveats cytotoxicity, diminishing efficacy, induction resistance materials incorporating reviewed provide backdrop for future research.

Engineering nanomaterials are increasingly considered promising and powerful biomedical tools or devices for imaging, drug delivery, cancer therapies, but few have been tested in clinical trials. This wide gap between bench discoveries application is mainly due to the limited understanding of biological identity nanomaterials. When they exposed human body, nanoparticles inevitably interact with bodily fluids thereby adsorb hundreds biomolecules. A "biomolecular corona" forms on surface confers a new NPs, which determines following events: cellular uptake, immune response, biodistribution, clearance, toxicity. deep thorough effects triggered by protein corona vivo will speed up their translation clinic. To date, nearly all studies attempted characterize components coronas depending different physiochemical properties NPs. Herein, recent advances reviewed order better understand impact nanoparticle-corona nanomedicine applications. The development formation pharmacokinetics nanomedicines also highlighted. Finally, challenges opportunities toward future applications discussed.
