Music therapy can help social workers deal with negative behaviors and symptoms of dementia in older adults without drugs or physical restraints, thereby improving the quality care. Effects of reminiscence interventions on psychosocial outcomes: A meta-analysis DOI

This study integrated results from controlled trials of reminiscence interventions.Meta-analysis was used to aggregate 128 studies on 9 outcome VARIABLES.Compared non-specific changes in control-group members, moderate improvements were observed at posttest with regard ego-integrity (g=0.64) and depression (g=0.57 standard deviation units). Small effects found purpose life (g=0.48), death preparation (g=0.40), mastery mental health symptoms (g=0.33), positive well-being social integration (g=0.31), cognitive performance (g=0.24). Background Alzheimer is a disease leading to various neuropsychiatric behavioral disorders, and the most common symptom observed during prognosis of Alzheimer's dysmnesia. The aim present study investigate effect reminiscence therapy on cognitive functions, depression, quality life in patients. Methods was randomized controlled single blind with two groups, which designed experimental pretest‐posttest pattern city Konya, Turkey. It decided include total 60 elderly individuals. Background Community-based social participation has shown promise in delaying cognitive decline older adults with mild impairment (MCI) who are at risk of developing dementia. Although group storytelling interventions have proven effective, the need for a skilled workforce to support people MCI can limit broader community implementation. Technology-based may offer solution this limitation by replicating abilities therapists. Objective This study aims co-design digital intervention and evaluate its usability. Methods process involved 3 stages, engaging (n=12), their caregivers (n=4), therapists (n=5) Beijing, China. The present meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of group reminiscence on depression in elderly patients.
