Abstract Building on an understanding of how music in general, and Hip Hop more specifically, can positively impact mental health well-being, this chapter examines active intentional uses promote empowering music-related outcomes that link to both personal community well-being. Our findings suggest engagement is being used intentionally as a concrete resource by youth young adults support their health. Further, racial/ethnic identity development, regulating motivational intentions for use, prioritizing lyrical analysis, having enough friends care are significant predictors engagement. The chapter’s help us strategically provide opportunities students use music, including Hop, academic, social, emotional with or without professional support.

Background Participatory arts‐based (PAB) programmes refer to a diverse range of community involving active engagement in the creation process that appear helpful several aspects children's and young people's (CYP) mental health well‐being. This mixed‐methods systematic review synthesises evidence relating effectiveness mechanisms change PAB for youth. <p><strong>This exegesis explores how professional boundaries were developed and navigated in my practice as a student music therapist. Boundaries are an important aspect of therapy. The motivation for this research topic came from interest developing ability to remain the intimate therapeutic relationship ensure that I could navigate transference countertransference. used interpretivist inquiry, with hermeneutic lens, which examined data context lived experiences during practicum. secondary sources, included clinical notes, reflexive journal supervision notes. two facilities attended practicum school students disabilities day centre adults disabilities. Abstract Music is a unique phenomenon, constantly eliciting interest from variety of viewpoints, several which intersect the universal trait musicality with sex/gender studies and neurosciences. Its unparalleled power physical, social, aesthetic, as well cognitive, emotional clinical ramifications make it specially promising terrain for reflections on sex gender differences their impact. This overview wishes to enhance awareness such issues, also fostering an interdisciplinary exchange between natural sciences, humanities, arts. ABSTRACT Creative arts programs have potential for promoting psychological well‐being amongst young people. The present research used a mixed‐methods approach to address the mechanisms involved in of marginalized people engaged creative participation, based on self‐determination theory. A preliminary quantitative analysis investigated levels basic needs satisfaction (BNS) that 42 reported experiencing at home, school, and youth theater organization. Abstract This paper investigates the relationship between music qualification choice and academic performance in secondary education England at Key Stage 4 (KS4; usually ages 15 16). We analysed data from 2257 pupils 18 educational settings a city southeast of England. Two regression analyses with clustered errors modelled KS4 GCSE achievement English, Mathematics other English Baccalaureate subjects, while controlling for range demographic, socio‐economic variables. Choice as subject was positively associated total volume qualifications entered examination also predicted by coming an affluent neighbourhood. Promoting the Wellbeing of Youth with Disabilities through Music Mentoring DOI Creative Commons

Youth with disabilities have a higher risk of experiencing mental health problems than their non-disabled peers. In part, this results from social exclusion and dearth networks. An intervention informed by positive psychology principles peer mentoring approaches was developed evaluated 12 youths who had musical interests talents as musicians. It included the real-world experience applying training in school-based music project over 200 typically developing pupils aged nine years four schools.
