Purpose: This study investigated the color and translucency changes of denture teeth after immersion in disinfectant solutions. Material Methods: Ten (Optostar/Heraeus Kulzer) were immersed nine different solutions (ethanol 78%, 2-propanol 75%, NaOCl 1%, H2O2 0.5%, glutaraldehyde 2.6%, chlorhexidine 0.12%, povidone-iodine Listerine Naturals, distilled water) for 3 min to 180 min. L*, a* b* values measured before their with a contact colorimeter (FRU-WR18/Shenzhen Wave Electronics) over white black background, ΔΕ*ab, ΔΕ00, ΔΤPab ΔTP00 differences calculated from baseline measurements. Two-way rmANOVA was used analyze data significant among times at α = 0.05. Results: ΔΕ*ab ΔΕ00 significantly only across (p < 0.001), mean 0.24 1.81 or 0.12 0.93 units. TPab TP00 parameters showed no intervals > 0.050). The ranged −0.43 0.36 ΔTPab units, −0.22 0.27 Conclusions: Most had effect on compared water group. Chlorhexidine 2.6% produced changes, especially not affected by solutions, regardless type time.

Dental materials science education is frequently delivered via traditional didactic lectures in preclinical dental programs. This review aimed to appraise the current evidence on innovative pedagogical strategies teaching courses. English-language articles methods for published between January 1990 October 2022 were searched nine online databases (Google Scholar, PubMed, Web of Science [WoS], Direct, Cochrane Library, EBSCO, LILACS, Open Grey, and EMBASE) according PRISMA guidelines. The risk bias (RoB) was assessed using RoB-2 ROBIN-I tools, whereas level determined based OCEBM Only 12 primary studies included. Two randomized (RCTs) deemed as being "some concern", one showed a high (RoB). Three non-randomized controlled (NRS) demonstrated moderate RoB, remaining seven low. Most ranked at Levels 2 3 evidence. Several identified: flipped classrooms, clinical-based learning, computer-assisted group discussion, microteaching with BOPPPS (bridge-in, learning objective, pre-test, participatory post-test, summary) model, game-based learning. suggested that students generally positive perceptions toward these strategies. educators should revise their undergraduate curricula integrate more effective methods.

Topical cariostatic agents have become a reasonable alternative for managing dental caries in young children. Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is practical topical approach to arrest and avoid extensive risky treatment. However, the literature demonstrates parental hesitation towards accepting SDF because of black unaesthetic tooth discolouration following application. The rapid oxidation ionic silver darkens demineralised structure permanently. In this regard, nano-metallic antimicrobials could augment or substitute silver, thereby enhance aesthetic performance. Recently, biomedical research has drawn attention selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) due their antimicrobial, antioxidant, antiviral potencies. Various vitro studies examined effect SeNPs on virulence bacteria. This narrative review explores issues when using suggests future directions develop it, focusing antimicrobial metals. Several methods are described that be followed reduce concern, including use fluoride, other metals with actions. There also value remineralising than such as NPs hydroxyapatite. variations made formulations order lower levels even replace one both components completely. Early-stage dental demineralization, called white spots (WS), get their name from the characteristic colour that enamel takes on due to acid attack of salivary cariogenic bacteria. They are often associated with fixed orthodontic therapy (FOT) and, if left untreated, evolve into caries repercussions oral health and aesthetics. This review aims identify most effective prophylaxis strategies prevent WS during FOT. The search for reviewed studies was conducted Pubmed, Scopus, Web Science databases, selecting English-only articles published in 5 years January 2018 2023. keywords used were "WS" "fixed orthodontic*", using "AND" as Boolean operator. A total 16 included qualitative analysis. Prevention begins maintaining proper hygiene; fluoride toothpaste, mouthwashes, gels, varnishes, sealants can be added regularly. Using a laser combination helps occurrence assists repair processes initial lesions. Further needed establish international guidelines preventing orthodontically treated patients.

Regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs) were used to recover the dental pulp’s vitality in order avoid undesirable outcomes of conventional treatment and promote dentinal formation, especially for immature permanent teeth. Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) exhibits photobiological photochemical effects improving root canal’s environmental conditions by compensating oxidative stress increasing blood supply implanted stem cells their survival. Basic research has revealed that PBMT can modulate human pulp cells’ (hDPSCs) differentiation, proliferation, activity, subsequent tissue activation. However, many unclear points still remain regarding mechanisms action induced REPs. Therefore, this review, we present applications laser irradiation REPs endodontics. In addition, on regenerative processes hDPSCs are reviewed from biochemical cytological perspectives basis available literature. Furthermore, consider feasibility which is applied cells, including discuss reported its effect.
