Epidemiological studies have spotlighted the intricate relationship between individual oral bacteria and tumor occurrence. Porphyromonas gingivalis Fusobacteria nucleatum, which are known periodontal pathogens, emerged as extensively studied participants with potential pathogenic abilities in carcinogenesis. However, complex dynamics arising from interactions these two pathogens were less addressed. This narrative review aims to summarize current knowledge on prevalence mechanism implications of P. F. nucleatum carcinogenesis squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), colorectal cancer (CRC), pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). In particular, it explores clinical experimental evidence interplay affecting gastrointestinal recognized keystone or bridging bacteria, identified multiple simultaneously. The both species correlated development progression, emphasizing impact collaboration. Regrettably, there was insufficient demonstrate synergistic function. We further propose a hypothesis elucidate underlying mechanisms, offering promising avenue for future research this dynamic evolving field.

Abstract In recent years, advancements in microbial sequencing technology have sparked an increasing interest the bacteria residing within solid tumors and its distribution functions various tumors. Intratumoral critically modulate tumor oncogenesis development through DNA damage induction, chronic inflammation, epigenetic alterations, metabolic immune regulation, while also influencing cancer treatment efficacy by affecting drug metabolism. response to these discoveries, a variety of anti‐cancer therapies targeting microorganisms emerged. These approaches encompass oncolytic therapy utilizing tumor‐associated bacteria, design biomaterials based on intratumoral use bacterial components for delivery systems, comprehensive strategies aimed at eradication tumor‐promoting bacteria. Herein, this review article summarizes patterns different tumors, examines their impact evaluates current therapeutic centered Furthermore, challenges prospects developing drugs that target communities are explored, promising new directions treatment.

Oral Potentially Malignant Disorder (OPMD) is a significant concern for clinicians due to the risk of malignant transformation. Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) common type cancer with low survival rate, causing over 200,000 new cases globally each year. Despite advancements in diagnosis and treatment, five-year rate OSCC patients remains under 50%. Early can greatly improve chances survival. Therefore, understanding development transformation developing diagnostic methods crucial. The field oral medicine has been advanced by technological molecular innovations, leading integration medical technologies into dental practice. This study aims outline potential role non-invasive imaging techniques signatures early detection Disorders.

Oral cancer, particularly oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), is a significant global health challenge because of its high incidence and limited treatment options. Major risk factors, including tobacco use, alcohol consumption, specific microbiota, contribute to the disease’s prevalence. Recently, compelling association between diabetes mellitus (DM) cancer has been identified, with metformin, widely used antidiabetic drug, emerging as potential therapeutic agent across various cancers, OSCC. This review explores both preclinical clinical studies understand mechanisms by which metformin may exert anticancer effects, such inhibiting proliferation, inducing apoptosis, enhancing efficacy existing treatments. Preclinical demonstrate that modulates crucial metabolic pathways, reduces inflammation, impacts cellular thereby potentially lowering improving patient outcomes. Additionally, metformin’s ability reverse epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), regulate LIN28/let-7 axis, role in head neck (HNSCC) are examined through experimental models. In contexts, shows promise outcomes reducing recurrence rates, although challenges drug interactions, complex dosing regimens, risks vitamin B12 deficiency remain. Future research should focus on optimizing application, investigating synergistic effects other therapies, conducting rigorous trials validate OSCC treatment. dual exploration underscores play transformative management care, revolutionizing strategies.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is one the most prevalent head and neck cancers represents a major cause of morbidity mortality worldwide. The main established risk factors for OSCC include tobacco alcohol consumption betel quid chewing, which may contribute alone or in combination with other environmental to carcinogenesis. oral microbiota emerging as key player establishment molecular cellular mechanisms that trigger promote carcinogenesis, including cavity. Parvimonas micra (P. micra), an opportunistic oral pathogen associated with multiple cancers, has limited research on its role in squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). This study shows that P. is enriched OSCC tissues and positively correlated tumor metastasis stages. infection promotes by inducing hypoxia/HIF-1α, glycolysis, autophagy. Mechanistically, surface protein TmpC binds to CKAP4, a receptor overexpressed OSCC, facilitating bacterial attachment invasion. interaction activates HIF-1α autophagy via CKAP4-RanBP2 CKAP4-NBR1 pathways, driving metastasis. Targeting CKAP4 masitinib or antibodies impairs abolishes micra-promoted vitro vivo. Together, our findings identify as highlight TmpC-CKAP4 could be potential therapeutic target for OSCC. micra) frequently present lesions infections. Here, authors report regulation HIF-1α-induced glycolysis following binding receptor.
