A proliferation of a variety health misinformation is present online, particularly during times public crisis. To combat online misinformation, numerous studies have been conducted to taxonomize or examine debunking strategies for various types misinformation. However, one the root causes – in such that may persuade readers rarely studied. This systematic review aimed fill this gap. We searched Web Science, Scopus, PsycINFO, and Communication Mass Media Complete published between 2011 2021 on 29 May 2021. Peer-reviewed discussed persuasive messages were included. Of 1,700 articles identified, 58 eligible 258 extracted. Following affinity diagraming process, 225 categorized into 12 thematic groups, including: fabricating narrative with details, using anecdotes personal experience as evidence, distrusting government pharmaceutical companies, politicizing issues, highlighting uncertainty risk, inappropriate use scientific rhetorical tricks, biased reasoning make conclusion, emotional appeals, distinctive linguistic features, establishing legitimacy. During the Covid-19 pandemic fake news has been circulating impacting on general population's opinion about a vaccine against SARS-CoV-2. Health literacy measures capacity of navigating health information.We used data from prospective national online cohort 1647 participants. Descriptive statistics, Chi2 and ANOVA independence tests two multivariable multinomial regression models were performed. Interactions between each variable tested.Detection scores associated with intention to get vaccinated SARS-CoV-2 (p < 0.01). The risk being "anti-vaccination" or "hesitant", rather than "pro-vaccination", was higher among individuals reporting bad detection news, respectively OR = 1.93 (95%CI [1.30;2.87]) 1.80 [1.29;2.52]). in "pro-vaccination" having score (OR 1.44; 95%CI [1.04;2.00]). Abstract Despite notable scientific and medical advances, broader political, socioeconomic behavioural factors continue to undercut the response COVID-19 pandemic 1,2 . Scientists across disciplines, policymakers, and journalists have voiced frustration at the unprecedented polarization misinformation around coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Several false dichotomies been used to polarize debates while oversimplifying complex issues. In this comprehensive narrative review, we deconstruct six common COVID-19 dichotomies, address evidence on these topics, identify insights relevant effective pandemic responses, highlight knowledge gaps uncertainties. The topics of review are: 1) Health lives vs. economy livelihoods, 2) Indefinite lockdown unlimited reopening, 3) Symptomatic asymptomatic severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, 4) Droplet aerosol transmission SARS-CoV-2, 5) Masks for all no masking, 6) SARS-CoV-2 reinfection reinfection.
