While
studies
have
reported
effects

digital
media
during
the
COVID-19
restrictions,
few
included
data
prior
to
pandemic,
and
most
only
measured
screen
time.
We
therefore
investigated
changes
in
specific
activities,
as
well
mental
health
lifestyle
habits,
a
longitudinal
study
of
adolescents
spanning
from
before
pandemic
(T1)
one
month
into
restrictions
(T2)
year
later
when
schools
had
reopened
(T3).
Adolescents
(16–19
years)
rated
smartphone
use,
problematic/addictive
negative
experiences
(e.g.,
victimization),
(i.e.,
irritability,
stress,
closeness),
protective
habits
sleep
exercise).
Results
showed
initial
decreases
irritability
experiences,
increases
exercise,
decrease
closeness
remote
learning
(T2).
However,
these
returned
to,
or
superseded,
their
levels
at
follow-up
There
were
also
use
stress
T3.
Conclusively,
by
investigating
activities
collecting
both
different
phases
we
able
find
positive
effects.
