The world population’s significant increase has promoted a higher consumption of poultry products, which must meet the specified demand while maintaining their quality and safety. It is well known that conventional antimicrobials (antibiotics) have been used in livestock production, including poultry, as preventive measure against or for treatment infectious bacterial diseases. Unfortunately, use misuse these compounds led to development dissemination antimicrobial drug resistance, currently serious public health concern. Multidrug-resistant bacteria are on rise, being responsible infections humans animals; hence, goal this review discuss consequences resistance focusing current status agroeconomic sector. Novel control strategies under investigation application industry also described. These innovative approaches include peptides, bacteriophages, probiotics nanoparticles. Challenges related methods discussed.

Abstract Cell‐penetrating peptides (CPPs) encompass a class of that possess the remarkable ability to cross cell membranes and deliver various types cargoes, including drugs, nucleic acids, proteins, into cells. For this reason, CPPs are largely investigated in drug delivery applications context many diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, genetic disorders. While sharing functionality some common structural features, high content positively charged amino represent an extremely diverse group elements, which can differentiate under aspects. In review, we summarize most characteristics CPPs, introduce their main distinctive mechanistic aspects drive function, outline widely used techniques for functional studies. We highlight current gaps future perspectives field, have potential significantly impact field therapeutics.

The significant surge in poultry production observed recent years has compelled scientists to devise strategies for more secure and cost-effective output. However, due complete or gradual restrictions on the use of antimicrobial growth promoters (AGPs), enteric diseases that were formerly contained with success have now resurfaced, posing difficulties global industry. Necrotic enteritis (NE) is a highly bacterial disease causes economic losses ($2–6 billion annually) industry worldwide. caused by an anaerobic spore-forming bacterium, Clostridium perfringens type A, C G strains. Several factors predispose disease, including coccidiosis, poor management biosecurity. distributed worldwide both clinical subclinical forms. form ruffled feathers, diarrhoea, weight loss, pseudomembrane formation, Turkish towel-like appearance intestinal mucosa, foul-smelling gases, high mortality. less noticeable symptoms, such as nutrient digestion absorption, FCR cholangiohepatitis. Poultry researchers are continuously seeking novel viable antibiotic alternatives prevent control this important disease. non-antibiotic alternatives, prebiotics, probiotics, synbiotics, postbiotics, organic acids, enzymes, phytogenic substances, bacteriophages, egg yolk antibodies, vaccines been utilised, varying degrees limitations. Choosing most optimal alternative method combat NE challenging variable influence potential effects cost-efficiency. integrated approach takes into account utilisation suitable antibiotics, composition diet effective husbandry practices may yield promising outcomes. current review provides comprehensive details concept, mechanisms associated application different employed broilers.

Leishmaniasis is a neglected tropical disease caused by protozoan of the genus Leishmania, which has visceral and cutaneous forms. The symptoms leishmaniasis include high fever weakness, infection also causes lesions under skin. drugs used to treat have become less effective due resistance mechanisms protozoa. In addition, current compounds low selectivity for pathogen, leading various side effects, results in lower adherence treatment. Various strategies were developed solve this problem. bioconjugation between natural with antimicrobial activity cell-penetrating peptides could alleviate toxicity treatments. This work aims conjugate cell penetration peptide TAT guanidine GVL1. GVL1-TAT bioconjugate exhibited leishmanicidal against Leishmania amazonensis infantum index. was more active intracellular enzyme CPP than individual compounds. target very important viability virulence parasite within host cell. Docking studies confirmed higher interaction suggested that other proteins, such as trypanothione reductase, be targeted. Thus, data indicated guanidines conjugated good approach developing antileishmanial molecules.

Millions of people worldwide are affected by leishmaniasis, caused the Leishmania parasite. Effective treatment is challenging due to biological complexity parasite, drug toxicity, and increasing resistance conventional drugs. To combat this disease, development specific strategies target selectively eliminate parasite crucial. This Review highlights importance amino acids in developmental stages as a factor determining whether infection progresses or suppressed. It also explores use peptides alternatives control novel targeted treatments. While these show promise for more effective treatment, further studies address remaining challenges imperative.

Abstract Cell Penetrating Peptides (CPPs) are promising anticancer and antimicrobial drugs. We recently reported that a peptide derived from the human mitochondrial/ER membrane-anchored NEET protein, Nutrient Autophagy Factor 1 (NAF-1; NAF-1 44-67 ), selectively permeates kills metastatic epithelial breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231), but not control cells. As alter their phenotype during growth metastasis, we tested whether 44–67 would also be efficient in killing other may have different phenotype. Here report is BT-549, Hs 578T, MDA-MB-436, MDA-MB-453 cells, MDA-MB-157 resistant to it. Upon closer examination, found display high content of intracellular vesicles cellular protrusions, compared MDA-MB-231 could protect them . Inhibiting formation dynamics protrusions using protein translation inhibitor (the antibiotic Cycloheximide), rendered these highly susceptible , suggesting under certain conditions, effect CPPs augmented when they applied combination with an or chemotherapy agent. These findings prove important for treatment cancers and/or combinations include CPPs.
