Rapid industrialization has led to an increase in cadmium pollution, a dangerously toxic heavy metal. Cadmium (Cd) is released into the environment through industrial processes and can contaminate air, water, soil. This pollution poses significant risk human health become pressing concern many industrialized areas. Due its extended half-life, it leads range of problems, including hepato-nephritic toxicity, brain damage, degenerative bone disorders. Intoxication alters various intracellular parameters, leading inflammation, tissue injury, oxidative stress within cells, which disrupts normal cellular functions eventually result cell death. It also been linked development diseases such as osteoporosis. These adverse effects highlight urgent need address find effective solutions mitigate impact on health. article highlights Cd-induced risks role Catharanthus roseus ( C. ) extract source alternative medicine alleviating symptoms. Numerous herbal remedies often contain certain bioactive substances, polyphenols alkaloids, have power these by acting antioxidants lowering damage. Research conducted field revealed enormous potential meet demands that may be effectively used safeguarding humans their environment. The point this review investigate whether extract, known for being investigated harmful Further investigation needed fully understand effectiveness. Moreover, important explore environmental benefits using reduce negative Cd. could implications both sustainability.

The contamination of soil and water with high levels heavy metals (HMs) has emerged as a significant obstacle to agricultural productivity overall crop quality. Certain HMs, although serving essential micronutrients, are required in smaller quantities for plant growth. However, when present higher concentrations, they become very toxic. Several studies have shown that balance out the harmful effects complex systems needed at molecular, physiological, biochemical, cellular, tissue, whole levels. This could lead more crops being grown. Our review focused on HMs' resources, occurrences, implications. will also look how plants react HMs affect seed performance well benefits provide plants. Furthermore, examines transport genes their metabolic responses HMs. We examined obstacles potential management strategies.

Since their inception, electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) have gained increasing popularity, sparking a vaping epidemic among adolescents in the US and globally. Several ENDS safety concerns emerged as device features formats that contribute to heavy metal exposure toxicity continue evolve outpace regulatory efforts. Our objective was integrate emission profiles with salivary proteome metabolome data characterize factors may influence adverse vaping-mediated health outcomes. A total of 56 participants (38 exclusive users 18 non-ENDS users) were recruited. subset 15 completed puffing topography assessments obtain individual behavior patterns using each participant's device. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry used determine content emissions (12 devices) generated programmable aerosol generation system saliva (15 5 users). Saliva samples from 10 analyzed for proteomic, metabolomic, inflammatory, oxidative stress/damage biomarkers. linear puff volume-dependent increase particle metals observed aerosols users. Elevated levels cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα), interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), IL-6, alongside damage indicators malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). Proteome-metabolome network analysis showed higher risk potentially developing neurological respiratory diseases compared Integrated proteome-metabolome-metallome further demonstrated associated proteomic metabolomic perturbations, notable alterations inflammatory response, immune function, disease-related pathways. significant correlation between metals, stress markers reveals potential role changes DNA inflammation. study demonstrates importance characterizing when examining human implications use. https://doi.org/10.1289/EHP14321.

Cadmium (Cd) is a pervasive environmental and industrial toxin that poses significant health risks. It readily moves through soil–plant systems, leading to global contamination human exposure diet, smoking, pollution. The main purpose of this review explore the effect Cd on physiological processes different bodies’ organs, including bones, kidneys, liver, as well immune, cerebrovascular, cardiovascular, reproductive systems. Accumulation in body can result poisoning with severe impacts bone kidney health, reduced mineral density due renal damage. Research has linked lung cancer pulmonary toxicity, elevated urinary biomarkers suggest compromised function. also affects immune systems; liver; contributing various diseases by disrupting blood pressure calcium regulation, causing oxidative stress DNA damage, impairing cell functions. Ongoing research essential fully understand Cd-induced toxicological effects develop effective interventions prevent mitigate
