Abstract Wild meat and freshwater fish are widely consumed in the Congo Basin, but some areas, they at risk of disappearing due to unsustainable hunting fishing changes their habitat. is also being eliminated from local diets potential policy such as wild bans. In order understand impacts these on nutrition design appropriate policies, it critical contributions animal source foods individual nutrient intake. this study, we focus young children who among most nutritionally vulnerable. We use dietary intake data between 1 5 years age four sites Cameroon Democratic Republic estimate protein, iron, zinc vitamin B12 meeting nutritional recommendations. Together, comprised an average 74% (rainy season) 61% (dry quantities by across sites. They contributed 23% protein intake; 11% iron 14% 57% Vitamin seasons those foods. Results regression analysis showed that wealth was not associated with consumption or positively domestic meat. Reduced access restrictions practices could have negative consequences child Basin. These would likely be greater for poorer households since fewer ASF alternatives compared wealthier households. Read free Plain Language Summary article Journal blog.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a major global health problem today and the most common form of dementia. AD characterized by formation β-amyloid (Aβ) plaques neurofibrillary clusters, leading to decreased brain acetylcholine levels in brain. Another mechanism underlying pathogenesis abnormal phosphorylation tau protein that accumulates at level aggregates, areas affected this pathological process are usually cholinergic neurons cortical, subcortical, hippocampal areas. These effects result cognitive function, atrophy, neuronal death. Malnutrition weight loss frequent manifestations AD, these also associated with greater decline. Several studies have confirmed balanced low-calorie diet proper nutritional intake may be considered important factors counteracting or slowing progression whereas high-fat hypercholesterolemic predisposes an increased risk developing AD. Especially, fruits, vegetables, antioxidants, vitamins, polyunsaturated fatty acids, micronutrients supplementation exert positive on aging-related changes due their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, radical scavenging properties. Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) has been linked to aging risk, and a lack of knowledge about the relationships between PM2.5 components risk impeded development healthy aging. Participants were recruited through multicenter cross-sectional study in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region China. Middle-age older males menopausal women completed collection basic information, blood samples, clinical examinations. The biological age was estimated by Klemera-Doubal method (KDM) algorithms based on biomarkers. Multiple linear regression models applied quantify associations interactions while controlling for confounders, restricted cubic spline function corresponding dose-response curves relationships. Overall, KDM-biological acceleration associated with component exposure over preceding year both females, calcium [females: 0.795 (95% CI: 0.451, 1.138); males: 0.712 0.389, 1.034)], arsenic 0.770 0.641, 0.899); 0.661 0.532, 0.791)], copper 0.401 0.158, 0.644); 0.379 0.122, 0.636)] having greater estimates effect than total mass. Additionally, we observed that specific lower higher sex hormone scenario. Maintaining high levels hormones may be crucial barrier against component-related middle groups.

ABSTRACT The detrimental effects of prenatal stress (PS) on offspring's neurological and behavioral outcomes are well documented. However, strategies to mitigate these underexplored. This study examines whether zinc supplementation treadmill exercise can modulate PS‐induced cognitive impairments neurobiological markers in young adult male rat offspring, leveraging the established neuroprotective potential both physical activity zinc. Pregnant rats were divided into five groups: control, stress, + exercise, zinc, with all except control group subjected restraint (gestational days 15–19). groups underwent forced whereas those received oral sulfate throughout pregnancy. At postnatal 30 90, function offspring was evaluated using Morris water maze (MWM) test, hippocampal gene expression levels caspase‐3, brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) measured reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (RT‐PCR). PS impaired functions, increased caspase‐3 expression, decreased BDNF GFAP rats. Prenatal found deficits primarily through enhancing improved mainly reduced expression. combined effect not additive functions biomarkers. Physical may alleviate by modulating astrocytic factors, exert its inhibiting apoptosis via a BDNF‐dependent pathway. Further targeted research is necessary confirm relationships.
