Abstract Background Physical activity (PA) can improve mental health, including anxiety/depression, in individuals with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) minimal side effects, unlike pharmacotherapy that result significant effects. However, the influence of PA on health among children ADHD is understudied. Also, immigrants tend to have better but parental nativity children’s unknown. Abstract Cognitive and physical stress have significant effects on brain health, particularly through their influence the central executive network (CEN). The CEN, which includes regions such as dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex inferior parietal lobe, is to managing demands of cognitively challenging motor tasks. Acute can temporarily reduce connectivity within leading impaired cognitive function emotional states. However a rebound in these states often follows, driven by motivational signals mesocortical mesolimbic pathways, help sustain inhibitory control task execution. Chronic exposure challenges leads long‐term improvements CEN functionality. These changes are supported neurochemical, structural systemic adaptations, including mechanisms tissue crosstalk. Myokines, adipokines, anti‐inflammatory cytokines gut‐derived metabolites contribute biochemical environment that enhances neuroplasticity, reduces neuroinflammation supports neurotransmitters serotonin dopamine. processes strengthen connectivity, improve self‐regulation enable individuals adopt health‐optimizing behaviours. Long‐term activity not only but also risk age‐related decline neurodegenerative diseases. Mindfulness-based interventions are well-established in the field of psychotherapy, and such have also gained increased attention sport psychology, either to cope with psychological pressure or improve an athlete's performance. The goal present study was examine whether a Mindfulness-Acceptance-Commitment (MAC) program could increase self-compassion grit among elite female athletes compared active control condition. To this end, we performed randomized trial adult athletes.Forty (Mage = 22.22, SD 2.40) were randomly assigned group (n 20; 7 sessions, 60 min each) each). At baseline, seven weeks later at end again four follow-up, participants completed series self-rating questionnaires on mindfulness, grit.Dimensions improved over time, but more so condition Improvements remained stable from follow-up.While dimensions athletes, improvements much stronger Importantly, time lapse follow-up after completion, suggesting that intervention appeared cognitive-emotional learning processes.

Schizophrenia patients with an earlier age of onset have been found to more serious negative symptoms and cognitive deficits. Oxidative stress is thought be implicated in impairment schizophrenia. Total antioxidant capacity (TAOC) essential indicator oxidative stress. However, the association between onset, TAOC, performance schizophrenia remains unexplored. In this study, 201 (age: 26.5 ± 9.6 years; male: 53.2%) drug-naïve were recruited. Clinical evaluated using Positive Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS). Cognitive functioning was assessed Repeatable Battery for Assessment Neuropsychological Status (RBANS). Plasma TAOC levels analyzed established procedures. Results showed that early-onset (EO) had higher levels, severe performed worse on visuospatial/constructional, language RBANS total scores than non-EO patients. After Bonferroni correction, only a significant inverse relationship language, attention, scores. Our findings suggest early/late may correlated psychopathological symptoms, responses Furthermore, moderate function These improving status enhance their function.

BACKGROUND: Maca extract may regulate oxidative stress and muscle damage after exhaustive endurance exercise (EEE); however, its impact on these physiological activities remains obscure. OBJECTIVE: To examine the effects of supplementation stress, aerobic capacity EEE. METHODS: Twenty healthy men were assigned to or placebo groups received two doses per day for 12 weeks. Pre- post-EEE tests assessed levels damage. The EEE test also recorded metrics such as time exhaustion, peak oxygen consumption, maximal average heart rates. RESULTS: Post-exercise, there was no significant difference in markers between groups. However, group exhibited lower at both Post-4 Post-24 comparison Post-0, while only displayed a decrease Post-4. Notably, immediately increased catalase activity Post-0. Though did not significantly differ, slope CK elevation appeared than Placebo group, suggesting Maca’s potential preventing differences noted markers. Exercise dependence (ED) is common in endurance athletes and can lead to physical psychological distress with various health effects. We designed a prospective cross-sectional study investigate the personality traits associated ED among ultraendurance athletes. A total of 507 participants (41.6 (9.8) years, men: 73.7%) completed (1) screening questionnaire about sociodemographic data, sporting habits, healthcare (2) Dependence Scale-Revised (EDS-R, 21 items scored from 1 (never) 6 (always), 7 subscales), (3) Big Five Inventory (BFI), (4) 2 SCOFF (Sick-Control-One Stone-Fat-Food) regarding possible eating disorders. Based on EDS-R scores, 37 (7.3%) were at risk for (scores ≥ 5/6 ≥3 366 (72.2%) nondependent but symptomatic 3/6 104 (20.5%) asymptomatic. Participants had greater training volume higher prevalence level neuroticism was increased scores (r = 0.294; p < 0.001), significantly group (F 14.50, 0.001). Abstract Introduction Telomere length (TL) shortening is associated with increased cellular senescence and functional decline age. Regular physical activity posited to safeguard against TL shortening, but there disagreement on how concurrent psychosocial stress may influence this relationship. The current analysis explored whether differences in highly physically active individuals. Methods was measured from capillary dried blood spots collected Division‐I (D‐1) Division‐III (D‐3) National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) swimmers ( N = 28) non‐athlete students the same schools 15). All participants completed Cohen's Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) student‐athletes an additional questionnaire assess factors their lifestyle; Student Athletes' Motivation towards Sports Academics Questionnaire (SAMSAQ). Semi‐structured interviews further contextualized internalize stress. Results There no significant difference or PSS scores between controls. D‐1 reported significantly higher career student‐athlete motivation compared D‐3, non‐significantly similar academic scores. Themes collegiate included COVID‐19 stress, fear of injury, pressure academics, expectations perform, financial pressures. Conclusions These themes have contributed D‐3 did not appear impact TL. Given perceived sources SAMSAQ scores, analyses larger sample sizes are needed better understand these human biology health while engaged intense activity.
