Aim
This
study

Sarcopenia
is
a
common
complication
in
patients
with
stroke,
adversely
affecting
recovery
and
increasing
mortality
risk.

standardised
tool

AbstractBackground:
This
study
aimed
to
explore
the
effects
of
interventions
on
improving
self-efficacy,
increasing
physical
activity,
and
reducing
frailty
associated
with
sedentary
behavior
in
older
people
type
2
diabetes
(OPT2DM).
Methods:

convenient

Abstract:
The
population
of
older
adults
(≥
65
years)
with
type
2
diabetes
mellitus
(T2DM)
is
diverse,
encompassing
individuals
varying
functional
capabilities,
living
arrangements,
concomitant
medical
conditions,
and
life
expectancies.
Hence,
their
categorization
into
different
patient
profiles
(ie,
good
health,
intermediate
poor
health)
may
aid
in
clinical
decision-making
when
establishing
glycemic
goals
pharmacological
treatment
strategies.
Further
granularity
assessing
each
profile
through
interdisciplinary
collaboration
also
add
precision
to
therapeutic
monitoring
decisions.
In
this
review,
we
discuss
a
multidisciplinary
approach
how
deliver
the
best
benefit
from
advanced
therapies
technologies
T2DM
according
profile.
There
remain
however
several
areas
that
deserve
further
research
T2DM,
including
efficacy
safety
continuous
glucose
automated
insulin
delivery
systems,
switch
once-weekly
insulin,
effectiveness

Abstract
This
review
will
try
to
elucidate
the
interconnected
pathophysiology
of
sarcopenia
and
type
2
diabetes
(T2D)
identify
a
common
pathway
explain
their
development.
To
this
end,
PubMed
Scopus
databases
were
searched
for
articles
published
about
underlying
pathophysiology,
diagnosis
treatment
both
T2D.
The
medical
subject
heading
(MeSH)
terms
‘sarcopenia’
AND
‘diabetes
mellitus’
(‘physiopathology’
OR
‘diagnosis’
‘therapeutics’
‘aetiology’
‘causality’)
used.
After
screening,
32
papers
included.
It
was
evident
that
T2D
share
multiple
pathophysiological
mechanisms.
Common
changes
in
muscle
architecture
consist
shift
myocyte
composition,
increased
myosteatosis
decreased
capacity
regeneration.
Further,
diseases
are
linked
an
imbalance
myokine
sex
hormone
production.
Chronic
low‐grade
inflammation
levels
oxidative
stress
also
known
contributors.
In
future,
research
efforts
should
be
directed
towards
discovering
checkpoints
development
as
possible
shared
therapeutic
targets
diseases.
Current

biguanides,

may

convey
protective
effect
on
sarcopenia.
