This study investigates how virtual and augmented reality role games impact self-learning in higher education settings. A qualitative research–action approach that involved creating micro-stories to encourage creativity critical thinking was used. Through role-playing, students collaborated gained a deeper understanding of the course, improving their abilities. The findings indicate incorporating into positively affects self-learning, promoting active student engagement meaningful learning experiences. Resumen La potencialidad que las herramientas como la Realidad Aumentada, Virtual o Mixta poseen, tanto a nivel tecnológico didáctico, ha hecho los centros educativos incorporen atendiendo dos de sus características distintivas: accesibilidad y relevancia. En el artículo se presenta, analiza través una revisión exhaustiva estudios, investigaciones metaanálisis, diferentes posibilidades didácticas estos recursos ofrecen para ámbito educativo. Asimismo, analizan líneas investigación están desarrollando con objetivo ampliar conocimiento científico disponible, entre pueden destacar algunas como: formación del profesorado su uso didáctico; búsqueda principios diseño objetos aprendizaje; grado aceptación actitudes despiertan en docentes estudiantes; percepciones sobre dificultades hora incorporarlas; variables cognitivas asociadas utilización; o, estudios comparativos conocer eficacia, otras.

Recent global advancements in ICT technologies have motivated our research to assess the impact of Virtual and Augmented Reality on teaching learning. In particular, we conducted a rigorous study effects learning by subjecting classes students an experience these emerging measuring their feelings before after experiment through questionnaires. We carried out involving three high schools total 162 aged between 15 20. During meetings, made available two applications that developed. The first is environment enables user explore room which system spawns three-dimensional objects defined teacher. may represent mathematical functions, physics simulations, scenes relating historical re-enactments, etc. second smartphone application allows figures be observed via screen framing marker printed paper. Both are realised with free software, trying minimise technical requirements for operation guaranteeing reliability usability. work concludes analysing results obtained comparing effectiveness tested. Results tests Italian show seen as useful tool education about 94.43%. Importantly, use requires inclusive design involves all students, regardless level familiarity technology. overall analysis reveals both performed well, value them intuitiveness immersion. presence more effective using immersive fostered student collaboration.
