The present study aimed to identify patterns of dietary changes during the COVID-19 pandemic and their associations with sociodemographics, body mass index (BMI) before pandemic, lifestyle in Polish adults examine effects lockdowns on dietary–lifestyle changes. This used a cross-sectional online survey collect data. k-means algorithm was determine changes, logistic regression analyses were performed. During period, 43% respondents decreased physical activity (PA), 49%—increased screen time, 34%—increased food consumption. Among three patterns, two opposite found: Prohealthy (28% participants) Unhealthy (19% participants). The adherence pattern negatively associated age, but positively being overweight (aOR 1.31) or obese 1.64). Residing macroeconomic region GDP > 100% 0.73) increased 1.47). Adults over 40 years old, those living children, unemployed, higher GDP, not consuming homemade meals could be more exposed unhealthy behaviors. From public health perspective, enhancing message “to active” compulsory isolation period should prioritized.

The purpose of this study is to examine the association anxiety with self-rated general health, satisfaction life, stress and coping strategies university students during COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in Poland.A total 914 students, ranged age between 18 40 years old (M = 23.04, SD 2.60), participated an online survey. was performed 30 March April 2020, coronavirus quarantine. Participants completed a standard psychological questionnaire, including General Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7), Self-Rated Health (GSRH), Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS), Perceived Stress (PSS), Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS).The majority (65%) showed mild severe GAD high level perceived (56%). Those who had worst evaluated current GSRH, comparison situation before outbreak, also demonstrated higher levels anxiety, stress, emotion-oriented styles. indicates that variance may be explained about 60% by such variables, like low female gender, frequent use both task-oriented styles.University experience extremely quarantine period they need professional help cope pandemic. results prepare appropriate future intervention effective prevention programs at universities.

Abstract Optimal nutrition can improve well-being and might mitigate the risk morbidity associated with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This review summarizes nutritional guidelines to support dietary counseling provided dietitians health-related professionals. The majority of documents encouraged consumption fruits, vegetables, whole grain foods. Thirty-one percent highlighted importance minerals vitamins such as zinc C, A, D maintain a well-functioning immune system. Dietary supplementation has not been linked COVID-19 prevention. However, C D, well selenium, was potentially beneficial for individuals with, or at of, viral infections those in whom nutrient deficiency is detected. There no convincing evidence that food packaging transmission COVID-19, but good hygiene practices handling preparing foods were recommended. No changes breastfeeding recommendations have made, even women diagnosed COVID-19.

Elderly individuals are the most susceptible to an aggressive form of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) mediated by SARS-CoV-2. The remodeling immune response that is observed among elderly could explain, at least in part, age gradient lethality COVID-19. In this review, we will discuss phenomenon immunosenescence, which entails changes occur both innate and adaptive immunity with aging. Furthermore, inflamm-aging, a low-grade inflammatory state triggered continuous antigenic stimulation, may ultimately increase all-cause mortality. general, less capable respond neo-antigens, because lower naïve T cells frequency. they have expansion memory shrinkage cell diversity repertoire. Acute inflammation is a physiological response to injury or infection, with cascade of steps that ultimately lead the recruitment immune cells clear invading pathogens and heal wounds. However, chronic arising from continued presence initial trigger, dysfunction signalling and/or effector pathways, harmful health. While successful ageing in older adults, including centenarians, associated low levels inflammation, elevated increases risk poor health death. Hence has been described as one seven pillars ageing. Age-associated sterile, chronic, low-grade commonly termed inflammageing-it not simply consequence increasing chronological age, but also marker biological ageing, multimorbidity, mortality risk. inflammageing was initially thought be caused by "continuous antigenic load stress", reports last two decades describe much more complex phenomenon involving cellular senescence system. In this review, we explore some main sources consequences context immunosenescence highlight potential interventions. particular, assess contribution age-associated identify patterns pro- anti-inflammatory markers characteristic inflammageing, alterations system finally ways diet, exercise, pharmacological interventions can reduce thus, improve later life

Exercise has long been known for its active role in improving physical fitness and sustaining health. Regular moderate-intensity exercise improves all aspects of human health is widely accepted as a preventative therapeutic strategy various diseases. It well-documented that maintains restores homeostasis at the organismal, tissue, cellular, molecular levels to stimulate positive physiological adaptations consequently protect against pathological conditions. Here we mainly summarize how affects major hallmarks health, including integrity barriers, containment local perturbations, recycling turnover, integration circuitries, rhythmic oscillations, homeostatic resilience, hormetic regulation, well repair regeneration. Furthermore, current understanding mechanisms responsible beneficial response exercise. This review aimed providing comprehensive summary vital biological through which opens window application other interventions. Abstract Physical activity, including walking, has numerous health benefits in older adults, supported by a plethora of observational and interventional studies. Walking decreases the risk or severity various outcomes such as cardiovascular cerebrovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cognitive impairment dementia, while also improving mental well-being, sleep, longevity. Dose-response relationships for walking duration intensity are established adverse outcomes. Walking’s favorable effects on factors attributed to its impact circulatory, cardiopulmonary, immune function. Meeting current physical activity guidelines briskly 30 min per day 5 days can reduce several age-associated diseases. Additionally, low-intensity exercise, exerts anti-aging helps prevent age-related making it powerful tool promoting healthy aging. This is exemplified lifestyles individuals Blue Zones, regions world with highest concentration centenarians. other activities contribute significantly longevity these regions, being an integral part their daily lives. Thus, incorporating into routines encouraging walking-based interventions be effective strategy aging all populations. The goal this review provide overview vast consistent evidence supporting specific focus discuss outcomes, prevention Furthermore, will delve molecular cellular mechanisms aging, providing insights underlying biological through which beneficial effects.
