Pollutants from industry and chemical laboratories have harmful effects on human health the environment. Concerns about this problem led to development of more versatile sustainable protocols based principles green chemistry. One these innovative approaches is carry out reactions under visible-light sources without photocatalysts. This benign, simple, cost-effective method, inspired by nature, could be a suitable alternative some classical methods, change harsh reaction conditions into milder ones. In Perspective, we outlined results catalyst-free organic further encourage researchers in promising field. The proposed mechanisms generation an electron donor–acceptor complex (EDA) single-electron transfer (SET) pathway were discussed.

Abstract A magnetic CdS quantum dot (Fe 3 O 4 /polydopamine (PDA)/CdS) was synthesized through a facile and convenient method from inexpensive starting materials. Characterization of the prepared catalyst performed by means FTIR spectroscopy, XRD, SEM, TEM, energy‐dispersive X‐ray vibrating‐sample magnetometer techniques. Fe /PDA/CdS found to be highly active photocatalyst for amidation aromatic aldehydes using air as clean oxidant under mild conditions. The can recovered separation successfully reused five cycles without considerable loss its catalytic activity.

In this review, we comprehensively describe catalyzed multicomponent reactions (MCRs) and the multiple roles of catalysis combined with key parameters to perform these transformations. Besides improving yields shortening reaction times, is vital achieving greener protocols furthering MCR field research. Considering that MCRs typically have two or more possible pathways explain transformation, essential for selecting a route avoiding byproduct formation. Key parameters, such as temperature, catalyst amounts reagent quantities, were analyzed. Solvent effects, which are likely most neglected topic in MCRs, well their catalysis, critically discussed. Stereocontrolled rarely observed without presence catalytic system, also presented discussed review. Perspectives on use systems improved finally presented.
