"Sex"

ubiquitous

variable
throughout
the
animal
kingdom.
Historically,
scientists
have
used
reductionist
methodologies
that
rely
on
a
priori
sex
categorizations,

sexes

linked

this
binarized
operationalization
does
not
adequately
reflect
diversity
of
observed
nature.
This
