The response surface method (RSM) was used to find out the best conditions for nitrate removal by electrocoagulation (EC) process with aluminum electrodes. independent variables were initial concentration, reaction time, pH, and cell voltage. A statistical analysis of variance (ANOVA) performed optimization parameters obtained from experimental data. quadratic model suggested as a good prediction efficiency. optimum at pH 10, 17 V voltage, 68 min when concentration found be 226 mg/L. At conditions, efficiency energy consumption 87.95% 144.15 kWh/m3, respectively. In terms consumption, coefficients determinations 0.95 0.99, results indicate that voltage most important parameters. also show agreement between data predicted equation.

The present paper deals with the effects of frequently used textile preparation chemicals and common ions on H2O2/UV-C treatment a commercially important slowly biodegradable nonionic surfactant, namely nonylphenol bearing 10 ethoxylated chains. For this purpose, effect soda ash carbonate (0-5.0 g L(-1)), two phosphonic acid-based organic sequestering agents (0-2.5 L(-1)) chloride (0-3.0 at different pH values (3.5 10.5) as hydroxyl radical scavengers was experimentally investigated. Among studied scavengers, decreasing order scavenging capacity established diethylene triamine pentamethylene acid > 1-hydroxy ethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic 10.5 3.5 10.5.
