Abstract The analysis of extracellular vesicles (EV) in blood samples is under intense investigation and holds the potential to deliver clinically meaningful biomarkers for health disease. Technical variation must be minimized confidently assess EV‐associated biomarkers, but impact pre‐analytics on EV characteristics remains minimally explored. We present results from first large‐scale Blood Benchmarking (EVBB) study which we systematically compared 11 collection tubes (BCT; six preservation five non‐preservation) three processing intervals (BPI; 1, 8 72 h) defined performance metrics ( n = 9). EVBB identifies a significant multiple BCT BPI diverse set reflecting sample quality, ex‐vivo generation blood‐cell derived EV, recovery molecular signatures. assist informed selection optimal analysis. proposed serve as framework guide future research further support methodological standardization studies.

Abstract Extracellular vesicles (EVs), a cluster of cell-secreted lipid bilayer nanoscale particles, universally exist in body fluids, as well cell and tissue culture supernatants. Over the past years, increasing attention have been paid to important role EVs effective intercellular communicators fibrotic diseases. Notably, EV cargos, including proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, metabolites, are reported be disease-specific can even contribute fibrosis pathology. Thus, considered biomarkers for disease diagnosis prognosis. Emerging evidence shows that derived from stem/progenitor cells great prospects cell-free therapy various preclinical models diseases engineered improve targeting effectiveness their treatment. In this review, we will focus on biological functions mechanisms diseases, potential novel therapeutic strategies.

Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) such as exosomes are nanoscale membranous particles (<200 nm) that have emerged crucial targets for liquid biopsy and promising drug delivery vehicles. They play a significant role in tumor progression intercellular messengers. can serve biomarkers diagnosis carriers cancer treatment. This article reviews recent studies on sEVs oncology explores their potential Following tumorigenesis, the microenvironment (TME) circulatory system undergo modifications to regulate various events TME, including angiogenesis, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), immunity, with either pro- or anti-tumor effects. been investigated use diagnostic prognostic variety of tumors, lung cancer, melanoma, breast prostate hepatocellular carcinoma. be used therapy by packaging drugs proteins into them through pre- post-isolation modification techniques.
