Monkeypox virus (MPXV) infection was classified as a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2022, being transmitted between humans large respiratory droplets, contact with skin lesions, fomites, and sexually. Currently, there are no available accessible simple-to-use diagnostic tests that accurately detect MPXV antigens for decentralized frequent testing. Here, we report an electrochemical biosensor to saliva plasma samples within 15 min using materials. The system manufactured onto paper substrate engraved CO2 laser machine, modified gold nanostructures (AuNS) monoclonal antibody, enabling sensitive detection A29 viral protein. test is based on use impedance spectroscopy (EIS) can be run miniaturized potentiostat connected smartphone. impedimetric biosensing method presented excellent analytical parameters, glycoprotein concentration ranging from 1 × 10–14 10–7 g mL–1, limit (LOD) 3.0 10–16 mL–1. Furthermore, it enabled 10–1 104 PFU LOD 7.8 10–3 Importantly, cross-reactivity observed when our device tested presence other poxvirus nonpoxvirus strains, indicating adequate selectivity nanobiosensor detection. Collectively, presents high greenness metrics associated reproducible large-scale fabrication method, sustainable substrate, low volume sample (2.5 μL), which could facilitate testing at point-of-care (POC).

In this study, we reported a selective impedimetric biosensor for the detection of A29 which is target protein monkeypox virus (MPXV). The working principle relies on interaction mechanism between A29, an internal membrane MPXV, and heparan sulfate receptor. For purpose, after immobilizing onto gold screen-printed electrode surface, its with was monitored using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. After optimization experimental parameters, analytical characteristics developed MPVX immunosensor were examined. exhibited linear range 2.0 50 ng mL

Abstract Mpox (formerly Monkeypox) is a zoonotic infection caused by Monkeypox virus (MPXV). Since 2022, epidemics have occurred in many non‐endemic countries and regions, leading the World Health Organization to declare public health emergency of international concern. With persistent transmission evolution MPXV, symptoms become milder, with some infections being asymptomatic. In addition, MPXV has more contagious. Therefore, rapid accurate diagnosis screening vital prevent control epidemics. Here, we review summarize technical details, application scenarios, advantages disadvantages MPXV‐specific diagnostic methods.
