Summary Despite the recent surge of research on leader humility, it remains unclear how and when teams benefit from it. Drawing social cognitive theory, we propose a moderated mediation model that test using multisource, time‐lagged data collected 71 in university‐affiliated hospital. We find humble leaders indirectly enhance team innovation via greater reflexivity. Additionally, consider average level proactive personality members as boundary condition positive effect humility. Our results show humility prompts reflexivity only mean is high, which turn increases innovation. Bridging theory with leadership teams, our study offers important implications for both practice.
