Chi-square test, independent samples t -tests, linear regression analysis correlation were used for data characteristics comparisons pre-outbreak outbreak peak datasets. Mediation moderation models also computed. Results present found population-based decline ultimately affected willingness. Moreover, distance situation, consistent ripple effect, way which short-term anxiety influences empathic concern. Conclusions concern could have predicted perception others’ pain, while this became less salient over era. Measures required mitigate adverse effects fatigue COVID-19.

A total 1,137 adult participants were recruited, IU, depression, perception, addiction, demographic variables analyzed. results showed that was significantly positively associated with this relationship in parallel perception. Our findings further extend Interaction Person-Affect-Cognition-Execution (I-PACE) perspective applicability unique context COVID-19. Furthermore, suggests individuals could decrease prevent pandemic through effective interventions include lowering improving emotion regulation, developing reasonable perceptions risk.
