The rapid urbanization of the Global South has intensified challenges faced by urban slum communities, leaving them particularly vulnerable to socioeconomic shocks. Despite growing attention poverty in these regions, limited research explores how such intertwined with shocks during crises like COVID-19 pandemic. However, few empirical studies have looked at influence of industrialization-driven economic transition on marine pollution, in particular post trade openness. This paper analyzes nexus between openness, industrialization, pollution.
