Background The gut microbiome has a significant impact on human wellness, contributing to the emergence and progression of range health issues including inflammatory autoimmune conditions, metabolic disorders, cardiovascular problems, psychiatric disorders. Notably, clinical observations have revealed that these illnesses can display differences in incidence presentation between genders. present study aimed evaluate whether composition microbiota is associated with sex-specific elucidate mechanism. Methods 16S-rRNA-sequencing technology, hormone analysis, transplantation, gonadectomy, treatment were employed investigate correlation sex or hormones. Meanwhile, genes proteins involved bile acid signaling pathway analyzed both liver ileum tissues. Results diversity from jejunum feces level hormones serum differed sexes young middle-aged Sprague Dawley (SD) rats. However, no similar phenomenon was found geriatric Interestingly, young, middle-aged, old rats, bacterial Gut replacement also suggested hormones, particularly testosterone (T), influenced mRNA protein (specifically SHP , FXR CYP7A1 ASBT ) exhibited gender-specific differences, T may play role mediating expression this pathway. Conclusion Sex-specific structure are mediated by through pathway, pointing potential targets for disease prevention management techniques indicating levels alter via

Introduction Riptortus pedestris is a destructive pest that threatens multiple leguminous crops in China. The intestinal microbiota plays crucial role the growth and reproduction of host insects. However, composition function gut at different developmental stages remain unclear. Methods Here, metagenomic sequencing was performed to clarify microbial diversity 2nd-, 3rd-, 4th-, 5th- instar nymphs (2 N–5 N) female adults (FAs) R. effects vital bacteria on development detected. have stage specificity, indicating their . Results Enterococcus Caballerronia were predominant present during 2 N–FAs. In addition, abundances 3 N 4 guts significantly greater than those others guts. Furthermore, 5 harbored abundant Burkholderia - Paraburkholderia Caballeronia metabolic pathways enriched from FAs. Carbohydrate metabolism, including glycoside hydrolases (GHs) glycosyl transferases (GTs), occurs throughout entire stage. Many antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) detected Pseudomonadota Bacillota presented broad spectrum resistance. Excitingly, eliminated by treatment unable molt normally, lifespan shortened nymphs, had significant effect nymph development. Conclusion summary, our results, for first time, systematically illustrate abundance across demonstrate genera are This study provides basis stinkbug management strategies focus pivotal microbiota.

Microbial communities play a crucial role in the physiological characteristics, adaptability, and reproductive success of arthropods. However, patterns functions microbial variation across different life stages mites remain poorly understood. In this study, we used high throughput Illumina sequencing 16S rRNA gene to investigate composition functional potential bacterial five (larva, protonymph, deutonymph, tritonymph, adult) oribatid mite Eremobelba eharai . We found significant differences diversity community structure despite being fed same diet. The was highest at protonymph stage lowest tritonymph stage. Beta analysis indicated distinct compositions among stages. Bacteroidota, Proteobacteria, Firmicutes dominated throughout host's cycle. Key genera, such as Bacillus, Streptomyces, Achromobacter , Tsukamurella showed abundance Predicted profiles revealed substantial changes metabolic pathways, which may reflect nutritional needs E. during its developmental process. PICRUSt prediction results also that most KEGG larval adult consistently maintain similar relative abundances bacteria. Different deutonymph show consistent “biosynthesis other secondary metabolites” “glycan biosynthesis metabolism” pathways. This study provides new insights into dynamic within lays foundation for further research on interactions between microorganisms.

ABSTRACT The gut microbiota plays a vital role in nutrient and energy utilization, as well the host's ability to adapt its immune system environmental changes. As biological control agent for invasive Parthenium weed, beetle Zygogramma bicolorata ( Z. ) Pallister is often exposed fluctuating temperatures, which may induce stress natural habitat. This study utilized 16S amplicon sequencing explore impact of temperature on microbiome under cold (15°C), (27°C), hot (35°C) conditions. A total 11 bacterial phyla 149 genera were identified, with Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, Cyanobacteria being most abundant. Temperature treatments significantly influenced diversity microbiota, evidenced by alpha measures. Principal coordinate analysis further revealed substantial variations composition across different Additionally, PICRUSt2 suggested that linked metagenomic functions related amino acid carbohydrate transport, inorganic ion metabolism, cellular processes. Our findings suggest thermal alters beetles, offering new insights into how these beetles have ecologically adapted fluctuations, while also highlighting potential microbes maintaining health stress.

Rhyzopertha dominica causes significant economic losses in stored cereals. Insects’ digestive tract microbiome is crucial for their development, metabolism, resistance, and digestion. This work aimed to test whether the different chemical properties of wheat barley grain cultivars cause disturbances insect foraging rearrangements structure R. microbiome. The results indicated that significantly influence microbiome, foraging. Most observed traits structures were not correlated at species level, as confirmed by ANOSIM (p = 0.441). However, PLS-PM analysis revealed patterns within cultivars. study found associations between C18:2 fatty acids, entomopathogenic bacteria, an impaired nitrogen cycle, lysine production bacterial origin, feeding. antioxidant effects also showed trends towards impacting development. findings suggest manipulating (increasing levels) can disrupting behaviours adaptation storage environments. research supports potential breeding resistant cereals, offering effective pest control strategy reducing pesticide use food production.
