Purpose Drawing on the natural resource-based view (NRBV) theory, study aimed to examine mediating role of green innovation (GI) in nexus between human resource management practices (Green HRMPs) and sustainable business performance (SBP). Design/methodology/approach This adopted descriptive time-lagged research design. Data were collected from 278 managerial staff five mining companies Ghana at different waves within a 3-month interval. Descriptive inferential statistics used analyse data received using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) (V. 26.0) Smart PLS (V.4.0). Findings The found that Green HRMPs significantly related more economic (EP) than (SP) but did not relate environmental (EnP). Moreover, results revealed GI partially mediated both SP EP fully link EnP. Originality/value relevance ensuring corporate sustainability has been largely established extant literature. However, there is an evidential dearth studies literature concerning SBP, especially developing economies context. Hence, this serves as significant contributing card by advancing NRBV theory.
