Environmental issues are a global challenge. In bank-centric financial systems such as China's, the impact of long-term credit on sustainable development is crucial yet underexplored issue. We use plausibly exogenous policy (LCP) implemented in 2019 to identify green innovations. Using difference-in-differences (DID) approach, we find that increases firms' low-quality innovations by optimizing term structures and generates spillover effects environmental performance. Moreover, significantly enhances high-quality innovation regions with more stringent disclosure regulations. These findings reveal quantity-over-quality effect highlight critical role integrating policies.

With the severity of global climate change becoming increasingly evident, shift to renewable energy has become key achieving sustainable development. Using data from prefecture level in China, we construct a comprehensive FinTech index institutional and individual levels using entropy method, aiming capture multi-dimensional value comprehensively. This paper quantifies momentum that provides urban transition. Our investigation shows can play crucial role enhancing transition, especially cities with strict environmental policies, relatively developed economies, eastern midland cities. study further reveals impact path FinTech-driven transformation, find is curb capital misallocation, strengthen public attention, improve green innovation. These results expand research perspective transition provide choice for China realize under dual-carbon goal.

It is of great theoretical and practical significance to investigate the influence intelligent city construction on urban innovation. Based data 238 cities in China from 2006 2019, this paper utilizes staggered difference-in-differences (staggered DID) model mediating effect examine impact mechanisms smart We find that China’s pilot policies significantly promote Mechanism analysis shows innovation promotion acts through improving informatization, government financial expenditure science technology, upgrading city’s industrial structure. Further has a stronger promoting larger scale, located eastern region, have lower level education. Overall, our findings provide new insights into objectively assess China.

Climate change has a significant impact on human economic and social life, climate issues have rapidly emerged as global hot topic. Using data from prefecture-level cities in China 2005 to 2020 sample, this study explores the relationship between policy uncertainty (CPU) urban green total factor energy efficiency (GTFEE). The results show that, first, CPU can significantly improve GTFEE, are reconfirmed after various robustness tests. Second, promotes GTFEE by improving public environmental concerns optimizing consumption structure. Third, promotion role of is particularly resource-based economically developed cities. provide theoretical basis practical enlightenment for government formulate forward-looking policies promote transformation development

Green finance (GF) holds significant potential in fostering high-quality economic development (HED), enhancing societal affluence consistency, and alleviating poverty by promoting sustainable development, innovation, resilience. This study addresses environmental challenges the promotion of growth through pivotal tools GF. We employ spatial spillover, quantile regression, regional-wise models to derive four key findings. Firstly, baseline regression analysis reveals a noteworthy positive association between GF HED, indicating that adoption utilization green financial mechanisms significantly advance while maintaining ecological sustainability. Secondly, using econometric model, this identifies presence spillover effect, showing impact on HED extends beyond individual provinces contributes overall broader geographical scale. Thirdly, regional heterogeneity demonstrates correlation varies across different regions China. Notably, is observed western region, highlighting importance considering disparities implementation effectiveness policies. Lastly, analysis, uncovers non-linear relationships emphasizing strategies quantiles distribution. provides several practical policy implications for institutions policymakers.
