Objective: Simultaneous use of alcohol and cannabis is associated with more negative consequences than either substance alone. Research suggests that emotion dysregulation linked to alcohol, cannabis, polysubstance use. However, no previous research has examined whether scores differ among individuals without past month (abstainers), who report past-month only (no or simultaneous use; alcohol-only users), engage in (simultaneous users). Our aim was examine differences overall levels subscales between these groups. Methods: The sample included 468 college students. Participants completed an online survey assessing demographics, dysregulation, average number drinks per week, days monthly use, cannabis. Results: A one-way ANOVA showed significant users, abstainers, users. Bonferroni post hoc analysis revealed for users (p = .004) compared abstainers. series ANOVAs were run subscale found impulse control difficulties .003) limited access regulation strategies .005) non-acceptance emotional responses .018) Conclusion: These findings indicate have higher difficulties, greater emotions, lack abstainers

Abstract Background Difficulties in emotion regulation (DER) are widely considered to underlie anxiety and depression. Given the prevalence of depression adolescents fact that adolescence is a key period for development ability, it important examine how DER related clinical settings. Methods In present study, we assessed 209 settings using Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) Hospital Anxiety Depression (HADS) examined associations between six components 14 symptoms We used network analysis, constructed circular multidimensional scaling (MDS) networks, calculated centrality, bridge stability centrality indices. Results The results showed that: (1) global index shows Strategy component (i.e., lack access strategies) center whole network, ranking highest strength, closeness, betweenness, expected influence. (2) MDS closeness symptoms, while Awareness emotional awareness) stayed away from other components, but close some symptoms. (3) nodes three groups, DERS, Worry Relax Cheerful Slow had strongest relationships with groups. Conclusion Lack strategies remains not only also DER-anxiety-depression awareness anxiety. Worrying thoughts inability relax bridging anxiety, cheerful emotions slowing down These findings suggest making more accessible patients reducing these may yield greatest rewards therapy.

Difficulties in emotion regulation (DER) and reactivity (ER) are important causes consequences of psychiatric disorders such as depression anxiety, previous research suggests that there many interactions between them. Understanding the structure their relationship, which components may play a key role, will help provide insight into adolescents guidance for clinical interventions. In this study, we collected data from 483 used network analysis methods to explore relationship DER ER, specifically looking core nodes. The results showed "limited access strategies" was most central node network. Furthermore, by adding nodes anxiety network, found had strongest with while stronger DER. Thus, our findings suggest disorders, strong association ER highlights potentially promising area intervention development, whereas depression, points possibility clarifying emotions exploring coping strategies, acknowledging complex interplay depressive anxious symptoms.

There is accumulating evidence that mukbang (i.e., eating broadcasts) watching may be another emerging online behaviour has the potential to become uncontrolled and harmful among a small number of individuals. However, there still large gap in literature regarding psychological mental health predictors problematic watching. Due paucity research, present study investigated emotional correlates (PMW) including emotion regulation difficulties (ERDs), impulsivity facets negative urgency, positive sensation seeking, lack premeditation, perseverance), distress depression, anxiety, stress). A total 513 adults (54% female; Mage = 32.05, SD 11.14) who watched past seven days completed survey psychometric assessment tools for aforementioned variables. ERDs were directly indirectly related PMW via anxiety urgency. Daily time spent was also moderately positively associated with PMW. Consequently, suggests individuals impairments use as maladaptive coping strategy.

Impairments in impulse control and related neurocognitive functioning have been well documented both substance use mental disorder populations. While high impulsivity other executive dysfunction linked to negative treatment outcomes these populations, no study date has examined their clinical relevance among individuals with co-occurring disorders (or concurrent [CD]). Objective This investigated working memory CD inpatients across compared controls. Methods Patients ( N = 56, M age 38.2, SD 11.7, 17F) healthy controls 50, 31.9, 10.0, 25F) completed a battery of self-report questionnaires behavioural tasks assessing (response inhibition, delay discounting, reflection, decision-making). were assessed within 2 weeks admission (baseline) at 6 months (follow-up). Controls single session baseline. Patient demographics, diagnostic status, outcome (discharge or without medical advice) retrieved from records. Results Group differences demographics probed for inclusion as covariates. At baseline, patients had greater self-reported on the UPPS-P (negative positive urgency) BIS (motor non-planning), discounting than Among patients, there was association between adherence memory, self-report, impulsivity, change observed baseline follow-up. Conclusions is first assess context treatment. exhibited choice-based various measures. 0,006 p 0,040). Abstract Objective Negative urgency (NU) and distress tolerance (DT) are two similar yet distinct constructs with putative transdiagnostic relevance, particularly across psychopathology characterized by impulsivity (e.g., substance use disorders [SUD], eating featuring binging and/or purging ED‐B/P, borderline personality disorder [BPD]). Yet, there remains a lack of research into NU DT SUD, BPD symptomatology in clinical populations. The present study sought to elucidate the utility impulsive‐type psychology examining unique interactive roles within treatment‐seeking sample young people. Method Participants ( N = 385; 62.3% female; aged 16–25 years) were recruited from youth health services Melbourne, Australia. completed an online survey including self‐report measures as well symptoms. Mixed effects logistic regression was used explore associations Results Both (adjusted odds ratio [OR adj ] 1.22; 95% confidence interval [CI] [1.16, 1.28]) global (OR 0.59; CI [0.47, 0.74]) uniquely predicted However, most its components differed types. No significant interactions between predicting symptoms found. Conclusions These results support BPD, while suggesting role these is more nuanced. findings have important implications for potential intervention targets.
