Exploring the urban spatial pattern and expansion characteristics of African countries under shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs) is crucial to optimizing development in Africa ensuring ecological sustainability. We use land panel data least squares dummy variable regression method predict increment from 2030 2060, we FLUS model simulate layout analyze perspective relationship between population density expansion. The results show that space will a significant trend 2020 with stronger growth SSP1 SSP5 scenarios relatively weaker SSP3 scenario; patterns different SSP are significantly different, rapid urbanization economic mostly patch agglomeration extended expansion, while patches evenly distributed; large number cities specific patterns, showing loose small- medium-sized compact expansion; regions such as North sub-Saharan have their own terms form. Our research provides important support inspiration for promoting rational enhancing regional resilience.

Cities in Sub-Saharan Africa are recognized as drivers of development but also internally disconnected and sprawling. Informal or "unplanned" settlements often suggested to hamper sustainable growth, while commonly being labeled "sprawl" by default. This notion is addressed the present paper, which aims analyze empirically whether informal do contribute more sprawl than planned areas, setting African cities. This paper systematically reviews scientific papers to understand the primary forms of HI, why they arise, and how affect urban landscape. It addresses question, “What are key trends, drivers, impacts Housing Informality (HI), what methods researchers use study latter?”. Previous research addressed impacts, individually, failing adopt a holistic perspective that could clarify HI as core concept distinct from informal housing. Accordingly, this systematic literature review (SLR) explores 541 peer-reviewed publications Scopus, Web Science, Google Scholar. By utilizing PRISMA framework, we reduced number documents 27, which thoroughly analyzed. The results highlight five main trends around globe: unauthorized modifications, market dynamics, Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), squatting, unusual These induced by several economic sociocultural drivers address gap between regulations governance one side lived realities another, resulting in economic, social, legal, health, impacts.
