The issue of soil contamination by heavy metals (HMs) has attracted extensive attention. In the present study, effects four remediation measures combined with rice intercropping on quality soils were evaluated in a mildly HM-contaminated paddy field. results showed that better comprehensive found system high and low Cd-tolerant than monoculture system. Both foliar spraying sodium selenite inoculation Pseudomonas TCd-1 significantly reduced Nemerow pollution index (NCPI) soils. application biochar lime increased fertility index. Among all treatments, 30 t∙hm−2 3600 kg∙hm−2 improved most. lowest single-factor indices (SFPIs) Cd, Cu, Zn, Ni Pb NCPI observed treatment at 45 mg∙L−1, showing greatest reduction HMs. 1200 mg∙L−1 effectively quality. Overall, fields dramatically influenced cleaner production is great significance to maintenance food security.

This study focuses on the effects of different levels sodium selenite growth, selenium content, and antioxidant capacity black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens). The experiment used doses for treatment, including a basic diet with no supplements (control) diets supplemented 10 mg/kg (Se10), 20 (Se20), 30 (Se30), 40 (Se40) selenite, results show that supplementation significantly increases content improves utilization (P < 0.05). However, it also negatively affects growth performance other nutrients. optimal level depends ration enrichment overall health productivity fly.

This study investigated possible associations between dietary patterns and blood heavy metal levels in Korean adults, using data from the Korea National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (2012–2016). To explore these associations, demographic, physical activity, anthropometric, biochemical, data, including a food frequency questionnaire, were analyzed. Foods categorized into 19 groups, principal component factor analysis identified three patterns: Meat processed food-enriched diet (MPD), vegetables milk-enriched (VMD), fermented fish-enriched (FFD). Multivariate logistic regression was used to evaluate association high of metals blood. The results showed that MPD score had positive with Pb (OR = 1.470, 95% CI 1.173–1.842) Hg 1.559, 1.259–1.932); FFD also 1.492, 1.227–1.814) Cd 1.276, 1.045–1.559). In contrast, VMD negatively associated 0.760, 0.628–0.920) 0.948, 0.781–1.151). Moreover, effect each pattern on differences by sex. Some patterns, such as intake meat, foods, fish, can increase levels, whereas other milk, have protective against concentrations.

Selenium (Se), is an essential trace element in the diet of fish and aquatic animals needed for growth, thyroid hormone metabolism, antioxidant activity, immunity. Thus, this study has evaluated dietary selenium yeast (Se-yeast) impact on growth performance, capacity, gut bacterial community zebrafish, Danio rerio. The with average weight 0.247 g ± 0.005 were distributed 12 glass aquariums. 30 per aquarium three replicates group exposed to different Se-yeast concentrations: 0.3 mg/kg (control), 0 mg/kg, 3 weeks. result indicated a higher body gain specific rate all groups. Se significantly accumulated liver, muscle, gill, gut. genes superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx1), marker genes: solute carrier family 15 member 1b (slc15a1b), fatty acid binding protein 2 (fabp2), cytochrome P450 8 subfamily B (cyp8b1), A, polypeptide 65 (cyp3a65) expressed tissue. 16 s rRNA sequencing showed significant difference at phyla Proteobacteria, Fusobacteria, Firmicutes, Actinobacteria Cetobacterium, Aeromonas, mycobacterium, Lactobacillus genus level. It was concluded that can promote performance status, furthermore, microbiota D.

With the advancement of radiological medicine and nuclear industry technology, radiation is increasingly used to diagnose human health disorders. However, large-scale leakage has heightened concerns about impact on organs tissues. Selenium an essential trace element that functions in body mainly form selenoproteins. selenoproteins can protect against by stimulating antioxidant actions, DNA repair functions, immune enhancement. While studies reducing through antioxidants have been conducted for many years, underlying mechanisms selenium as significant damage mitigation remain incompletely understood. Therefore, this paper aims provide new insights into developing safe effective protection agents summarizing anti-radiation mechanism
