Obesity involves a chronic state of low-grade inflammation, which is linked to the development several comorbidities. Recently, very low-calorie ketogenic diet (VLCKD) has gained great interest in treatment obesity, almost ousting ancient and healthy Mediterranean (MD). However, because these dietary regimens exploit different pathophysiological mechanisms, we hypothesize that adherence MD may play role determining efficacy VLCKD. We enrolled 318 women (age 38.84 ± 14.37 years; BMI 35.75 5.18 kg/m²) assessed their anthropometric parameters, body compositions, (with PREvención con DIetaMEDiterránea (PREDIMED) questionnaire) at baseline. The parameters composition were repeated end At VLCKD, with high achieved best results terms weight loss improved composition. Specifically, who above median fat mass (FM)% reduction had pattern, characterized by higher consumption extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), fruits, vegetables, red wine, as well than below same median. In multiple regression analysis, PREDIMED score was main predictor FM% came first, followed fruit, EVOO, glasses predicting percentage FM. A value > 5 could serve threshold identify patients are more likely lose FM conclusion, resulted VLCKD efficacy. This be due antioxidant anti-inflammatory properties MD, capable establishing metabolic set-up favorable onset effective ketosis.

<p>The increasing lifespan of women and their extended time spent in menopause pose significant challenges for health care systems, primarily due to the impacts postmenopausal estrogen deficiency aging on health. Menopause's onset is linked a heightened prevalence obesity, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis. Diet particularly relevant during given its impact quality life longevity modifiability. Because Mediterranean diet currently regarded as one healthiest dietary models world, aim this systematic review was assess current evidence regarding effectiveness studies an intervention menopausal women. A intervention-based involving among performed Scopus, PubMed, Web Science. The results seven that met inclusion criteria suggests adherence can have beneficial women's health, including reductions weight, blood pressure, ω6: ω3 ratio, triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL levels. Those seem be public interventions aimed at improving life.</p>

Abstract The Mediterranean Diet (MD) has garnered increasing attention for its potential protective effects against gastric cancer (GC). MD’s rich content of antioxidants, polyphenols, and other bioactive compounds contributes to ability modulate gene expression, inhibit tumor growth, regulate apoptosis. Studies have shown significant reductions in inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP), necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6) among individuals adhering the MD, suggesting pivotal role mitigating chronic inflammation-associated with development. Furthermore, anti-angiogenic properties, particularly components like olive oil, red wine, fish, tomatoes, offer promising avenues reducing GC risk by inhibiting angiogenesis. Additionally, influence on intestinal microbiota composition underscores maintaining immune homeostasis systemic inflammation, factors crucial prevention. Despite challenges variability dietary adherence scoring systems need further gender geographical-specific studies, evidence supports MD a cost-effective holistic approach Emphasizing nutrition public health is strategy broad implications global prevention initiatives. Therefore, this review explores multifaceted impacts prevention, delving into anti-inflammatory, anti-angiogenic, molecular mechanisms.
