Abstract The outside of humans is both obvious and not so obvious. the skin. less lining intestines. Both are interfaces with external world, exposed to environment that cells must be continually replaced by new cells. skin subjected numerous environmental insults, such as ultraviolet light, abrasions, parasites, toxins. digestive system likewise attacked foods, true inside contained between mucus membranes contains organs, bones, muscles, glands, other tissues.

Two proposed public policies, ending seasonal clock change with a transition to permanent Standard Time and moving middle school high start times later, are population-based initiatives improve sleep health. Daylight Saving early associated reduced duration increased circadian misalignment, the effects of which impact not only long-term health outcomes including obesity, cerebrovascular cardiovascular disease, cancer, but also mental health, academics, workforce productivity, safety outcomes. This article highlights studies that led endorsement these policies by multiple scientific medical organizations. Neurologists should advocate at state federal levels educate population about importance

We thoroughly analyze the results to question 2 (individual preferences for cancelling or keeping current clock regulations) from 2018 Public Consultation on summertime arrangements (DST) conducted by European Commission. reveal correlations in shares of population regulations and winter sunrise time (SRW) [ R = 0.177; p 0.03; N 25] onset human activity 0.677; 5 × 10 − ; 17]. The are line with rationale behind range latitude 35 ° 63 : larger values SRW (larger latitude) brought against regulations; earlier relative regulations. regulation did not show offset (position zone), thus challenging view within circadian community.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is a longstanding practice in many countries, involving the seasonal adjustment of clocks by one hour forward spring, and backward fall. Although DST was initially introduced to promote energy conservation maximize daylight hours, it has become subject debate, given its impact on physical mental health, cognitive performance, criminal behavior (Kountouris & Remoundou, 2014). In 2022, Colorado enacted law adopting year-round DST, contingent upon federal enabling states maintain throughout year as opposed ST, like Hawaii Arizona (Chasan, 2024). Meanwhile, Massachusetts officials deliberated October 2023 two bills: seeking establish permanent another aiming return Standard (ST) The transitions are contentious topic. One consideration that largely been overlooked effect changes domestic violence (DV), which not fully understood. As discussions surrounding future unfold, there pressing need for policymakers acknowledge address this aspect. Research potential link between ST DV could contribute valuable insights inform decisions ensure more thorough understanding broader implications changes.

Abstract Most people in the developed world pay little attention to biology and nature. Humans live a sheltered existence. When they do “interact” with nature, it is typically at zoo or park breathtakingly beautiful movies television series. Yet, humans are animals too, still part of natural world. Nature all around on them. Psychologists have noted benefits interacting E.O. Abstract Many physiological processes in humans, other animals, and even some bacteria obey a regular pattern based on 24-hour solar day. These circadian rhythms are the most obvious way humans “tell time.” They controlled by molecular clocks genes cells suprachiasmatic nucleus brains. Those can be thrown off jet lag, daylight savings time, external influences. However, there also clocks, such as hormonal cycles sleep phases. For example, human development involves complex programs of genetic pathways that must turned or at proper times, aging many unanswered questions. Animals respond to lunar, seasonal, clocks.
