The use of contaminated water for drinking and sanitary purposes can be detrimental to human health. In this article, the Human Health Risk (HHRISK) code was applied, alongside modified heavy metal index (MHMI), synthetic pollution (SPI), entropy-weighted quality (EWQI), investigate status, ingestion, dermal health risks potentially toxic elements (PTEs) (Fe, Zn, Mn, Pb, Cr, Ni) in resources from Umunya area, Nigeria. Physicochemical measurements followed standard methods. Results MHMI, SPI, EWQI revealed that about 60% samples had low were considered suitable consumption, while 40% unsuitable. Further, cumulative non-carcinogenic risk scores indicated pose low-medium high child adult populations. Contrarily, results carcinogenic showed 6.67% expose users risks, whereas 93.33% them risks. Although there are agreements between both populations (regarding risks), it is worth highlighting children higher. Therefore, study area more vulnerable Also, due ingestion higher than contact. Linear regression analysis strong agreement indexical models While artificial neural networks multiple linear accurately predicted indices, hierarchical dendrograms efficiently classed into various spatiotemporal groups.

The paper reviews the widely used heavy metal pollution indices (HPIs) in water, soil, and sediments presents their numerical equation application various fields. HPIs are an essential efficient tool to measure contamination environmental system. present study includes twenty from for comparative with ranges. In addition, regional distribution of publications has been reviewed, it observed that 68% were published Asia, followed by other continents. merits demerits each index have presented, a comprehensive method selecting appropriate is evaluated order better interpret level soils water systems. Among quality HPI, HEI HI due precise scale, easy use, less limitations provide results. single indices, EF, Igeo, CF can be simple manner soil assessment, whereas combined PLI INemerow found useful as apply scale. integrated Cd IAvg apply, there no limitation metals. Selection geochemical background (GB) must established, nature fluctuation GB may give false result. ecological risk (ERI) unique represent sediment A approach guidelines using considering different sectors developed nation. widespread HPI makes more accessible, well-defined result presented.

Heavy metals in drinking water, even low concentrations, can be very injurious to humans. Groundwater, spring and stream waters for public consumption Umunya district were analyzed understand the extent of heavy metal (Fe, Zn, Mn, Pb, Cr, Ni) pollution. Several indexical statistical tools integrated achieve research objectives. The utilized pollution assessment (e.g., index, Nemerow's geoaccumulation evaluation modified index) showed that at least 40% water samples loaded with metals. Similarly, overall index synthetic which used quality evaluation, confirmed supplies are unsuitable human consumption. Moreover, similar results obtained from an ecological risk performed on samples. Overall, Pb Ni most predominant pollutants greatly impacted resources performance interrelationships models also evaluated. Strong correlations observed among models. Furthermore, multivariate tools, such as correlation analysis factor analysis, source apportionment. anthropogenic inputs more important factors influence waters. Therefore, efforts should made treat polluted before awareness campaigns encouraged protect further deterioration quality.

Groundwater is considered as an imperative component of the accessible water assets across world. Due to urbanization, industrialization and intensive farming practices, groundwater resources have been exposed large-scale depletion quality degradation. The prime objective this study was evaluate for drinking purposes in Mewat district Haryana, India. For purpose, twenty-five samples were collected from hand pumps tube wells spread over entire district. Samples analyzed pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), hardness (TH), turbidity, alkalinity (TA), cations anions laboratory using standard methods. Two different indices (weighted arithmetic index entropy weighted index) computed characterize area. Ordinary Kriging technique applied generate spatial distribution map WQIs. Four semivariogram models, i.e. circular, spherical, exponential Gaussian used found be best fit analyzing variability terms (GWQI) (EWQI). Hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA), principal (PCA) discriminant (DA) provide additional scientific insights into information content data available study. interpretation WQI based on GWQI EWQI reveals that 64% belong "poor" "very poor" bracket. result modeling also shows model obtains both dataset. HCA classified 25 sampling locations three main clusters similar characteristics. DA validated these identified a significant variables (pH, EC Cl) by adopting stepwise method. application PCA resulted factors explaining 69.81% variance. These reveal how processes like rock interaction, urban waste discharge mineral dissolution affect quality.
