Two types of cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) were isolated from cotton linter fibers and hardwood through mechanical fibrillation methods. The dialdehyde (DACNFs) prepared the periodate oxidation method, their morphological structural properties investigated. characteristics DACNFs during concentration process also explored. AFM analysis results showed that mean diameters wood fiber-based CNFs about 52.03 nm 69.51 nm, respectively. However, treatment obviously reduced nanofibril size destroyed crystalline region nanofibrils. Due to high crystallinity fibers, exhibited a lower aldehyde content suspension stability compared DACNFs. For DACNF suspension, bound water concentrated was lowered 0.41 g/g, which indicated could have good redispersibility. Both films relatively transmittance strength. In addition, had very low swelling ratio, barrier vapor oxygen redispersed decreased by little. sum, this study has demonstrated serve as an effective alternative for preparing CNFs, huge application prospects in field packaging film materials due stable process.

Abstract The increasingly serious problem of mercury pollution has caused wide concern, and exploring adsorbent materials with high adsorption capacity is a simple effective approach to address this concern. In the recent study, dialdehyde cellulose (DAC), cyanoacetohydrazide (CAH), carbon disulfide (CS 2 ) are used as raw for (DAC@CAH@SK preparation material through three-steps method. By utilizing following characterization techniques; thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), N adsorption–desorption isotherm (BET), elemental analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), 1 HNMR Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) DAC@CAH@SK composite. point zero charge (pH PZC prepared also was examined. From batch experiments, optimum conditions were found be pH (5–8), an Hg 2+ concentration 150 mg/L, dose 0.01 g, contact time 180 min maximum quantity 139.6 mg/g. process on spontaneous exothermic, monolayer chemisorption, well-fitted Langmuir pseudo-2nd-order models. selectivity towards examined by investigating interfering metal ions effect. successfully applied removal from synthetic effluents real wastewater samples recovery % exceeding 95%. regenerated using mixture EDTA thiourea. Also, FT-IR indicates that synergistic complexation S atoms Hg(II) essential factor leading capacity.
