Novel Psychoactive Substances (NPS) derived from tryptamines has been detected in aquatic environments, leading to environmental toxicology concerns. However, the specific toxicological mechanism, underlying these NPS, remains unclear. In our previous work, we used 5-Methoxy-N-isopropyl-N-methyltryptamine (5-MeO-MiPT) as representative drug for and found that, 5-MeO-MiPT led obvious behavioral inhibition oxidative stress responses zebrafishes model. this study, Zebrafish were injected with varying concentrations of 30 days. RNA-seq, qPCR, metabolomics, histopathological analyses conducted assess gene expression tissue integrity. This study confirms that substantially influences transcription 13 selected genes, including ucp1, pet100, grik3, grik4, mediated by Gα

An in vivo model is necessary for toxicology. This review analyzed the uses of zebrafish (Danio rerio) toxicology based on bibliometrics. Totally 56,816 publications about from 2002 to 2023 were found Web Science Core Collection, with Toxicology as top 6 among all disciplines. Accordingly, bibliometric map reveals that "toxicity" has become a hot keyword. It further most common exposure types include acute, chronic, and combined exposure. The toxicological effects behavioral, intestinal, cardiovascular, hepatic, endocrine toxicity, neurotoxicity, immunotoxicity, genotoxicity, reproductive transgenerational toxicity. mechanisms oxidative stress, inflammation, autophagy, dysbiosis gut microbiota. toxicants commonly evaluated by using nanomaterials, arsenic, metals, bisphenol, dioxin. Overall, provide unique well-accepted investigate mechanisms. We also discussed possible ways address some limitations model, such combination human organoids avoid species differences.

Today, pesticides are widely used to enhance agricultural yield mixed with soil and water, creating significant environmental pollution. The extensive use of insecticides for pest control has made this issue more pronounced. Abamectin, a key member the avermectin family, is as an insecticide antihelminthic agent in agriculture. It active effective pesticide, particularly preferred combating pests such aphids red spider mites. dosage frequency its vary depending on target plant species organism. For example, abamectin-based products 18 g/L EC formulation apple orchards typically recommended at 10 ml/100 L water Although significantly below application levels, low dose 0.75 µg L⁻1 our study demonstrated effects that cannot be overlooked. However, it can contaminate aquatic environments, posing harmful organisms. Studies indicate abamectin exposure may lead serious health issues, showing toxic reproductive toxicity species. Examining abamectin's testicular tissue revealed hypertrophy Sertoli cells group exposed abamectin. Apoptotic were observed groups 1.5 L⁻1. At same time, pyknotic structures, disruption seminiferous tubules, interstitial fibrosis, atrophic appearance identified across all groups, severity increasing dose-dependently. Analysis ovarian distortion zona radiata Moreover, thickening radiata, vacuolization, formation degenerated follicles, nuclear observed, these pathological alterations exacerbating dose-dependent manner. Like many studies involving zebrafish, research crucial assessing potential pose risks human health. This examined histopathological varying doses (0.75 L⁻1, 3 L⁻1) zebrafish gonads after 96 h exposure. Using standard histological techniques, samples prepared stained H&E under light microscope. Statistical analyses conducted using SPSS 23. normality data was assessed Shapiro–Wilk test. One-way ANOVA Tukey post-hoc tests normally distributed while Kruskal–Wallis Dunnett's T3 applied non-normally groups. All performed 95% confidence interval significance level p > 0.05.

Triclosan (TCS) has garnered significant attention due to its widespread use and associated endocrine-disrupting effects. However, impact on the neuroendocrine system underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we established correlations between TCS exposure serum sex hormone levels in participants of National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Additionally, investigated TCS's influence using adult zebrafish exposed environmentally relevant concentrations (0.361–48.2 μg/L) for 21 days. Assessment reproductive neurotoxicity included histopathological examination behavioral tests. Transcriptomics, proteomics analyses, biochemical detection were employed elucidate TCS-induced disruption. Significant found estradiol, testosterone, hormone-binding globulin NHANES participants. In addition, inhibited ovary development spermatogenesis zebrafish. Transcriptomics analysis revealed gender-specific key signaling metabolism-related pathways implicated toxicity. Moreover, induced nervous impairment, as evidenced by histological changes altered motor behavior, possibly with oxidative damage. Correlation further highlighted potential connection endocrine disruption impairment following exposure. Overall, this study provided evidence supporting offered insights into mechanisms.

The fungicides strobilurins and succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors (SDHIs) are blockers of the electron transport chain (ETC) in fungi. Here, we show that exposure for 24 h to kresoxym-methyl, a fungicide from class strobilurins, alters mitochondrial respiration human HepG2 hepatocytes. In addition, demonstrate an increase production superoxide radical anion, reduction ATP level, decrease ratio reduced/oxidized glutathione cell viability (assessed by LDH assay, Presto Blue Crystal Violet assay). As kresoxym-methyl is associated boscalid (SDHI) commercial formulations, analyzed potential exacerbation induced dysfunction this combination. For highest dose at which (5 µM) (0.5 did not induce changes function when used separately, contrast, both were combination same concentration, observed significant alteration hepatocytes: there was oxygen consumption rate, level. level anion increased leading glutathione, viability.
