Abstract The qualitative and quantitative assessment of groundwater is one the important aspects for determining suitability potable water. Therefore, present study has been performed to evaluate quality Achhnera block in city Taj, Agra, India, where an water resource. samples, 50 number were collected analyzed major ions along with some trace element. This further investigated applicability index (GWQI), principal component analysis (PCA) mark out geochemical solutes responsible origin release into groundwater. results confirm that, majority samples alkaline nature. variation concentration anions varied sequence as, HCO 3− > Cl − SO4 2− F while contrast cations as Na Ca Mg K. Piper diagram demonstrated hydro chemical facies which found (sodium bicarbonate or calcium chloride type). plot Schoellar reconfirmed that + 2+ ions, contrast; bicarbonates chloride. showed mostly ranged between 105 185, hence, area fell category unsuitable drinking purpose category. PCA pH, , fluoride strong loading, pointed geogenic source contamination. it was inferred contaminated areas must be treated made before consumption. outcomes will helpful regulatory boards policymaker defining actual impact remediation goal.

Abstract The quality and quantity of groundwater resources are affected by landuse/landcover (LULC) dynamics, particularly the increasing urbanization coupled with high household wastewater discharge decreasing open lands. This study evaluates temporal changes for 2012 2019, its relation to Landuse/landcover, impact on Peshawar's residents (study area), Pakistan. A total 105 112 samples were collected from tube wells in 2019. Samples then analyzed seven standard water parameters (i.e., pH, electric conductivity (EC), turbidity, chloride, calcium, magnesium, nitrate). Patient data waterborne diseases also years 2019 relate human health. Landsat satellite images classified observe dynamics concerning quality. Results manifested a decrease year compared more highlighted highly populated areas. nitrate concentration level was found vicinity agricultural areas due excessive use nitrogenous fertilizers pesticides, thus methemoglobinemia patients ratio increased 14% (48–62% respectively). Besides, Urinary Tract Infections, Peptic Ulcer, Dental Caries calcium magnesium concentration. overall results indicate that anthropogenic activities main driver Spatio-temporal variability area. could help district health administration understand trends, make appropriate site-specific policies, formulate future regulations.

Abstract This study presents an assessment of groundwater quality over the two constituent districts (Faridabad and Gurgaon) National Capital Region (NCR), India, using geospatial statistical approaches. These have been subjected to rapid urbanization industrialization in recent years. The parameters viz., pH, electrical conductivity (EC), carbonate (CO 3 2− ), bicarbonate (HCO − chloride (Cl sulphate (SO 4 nitrate (NO fluoride (F calcium (Ca 2+ magnesium (Mg sodium (Na + potassium (K silica (SiO 2 total hardness (TH) are obtained for year 2017 from 28 sites area. suitability human drinking purposes is assessed by comparing concentration at each site with respect their permissible limits recommended Bureau Indian Standards (IS 10500: 2012). mapping water carried out visualize variations, whereas risk accomplished approaches index (WQI), correlation, principal component analysis (PCA). number exceeding EC, Cl , SO NO F Ca Mg Na K TH be 7, 15, 5, 6, 8, 3, 18, respectively. WQI revealed 10 unsuitable purposes. mostly exhibited positive correlations except pH that showed a negative correlation other parameters. results PCA first (PC1) explain more than 95% variance, thereby significantly reducing dimensionality. deteriorated may mainly attributed anthropogenic activities, i.e., reckless industrial growth, population explosion, urbanization. emphasizes need regular monitoring, information reported will certainly help resources planning management, especially regions NCR, India.

Groundwater is one of the most crucial freshwater resources in many parts world. However, growth population and different economic activities have negatively impacted groundwater quality. This study aims to assess quality An-Giang province, Vietnam, from 2017–2020 investigate its suitability for drinking via a new integrated-weight water index (IWQI). The samples were collected at thirteen wells dry rainy seasons analyzed eleven physicochemical parameters, including pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), hardness, nitrate (NO3ˉ), ammonium (NH4+), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), arsenic (As), mercury (Hg), lead (Pb), coliform. These values compared Vietnamese standard. entropy weight method Criteria Importance Though Inter-criteria correlation weighting was integrated compute weights IWQI. results showed that NH4+and coliform concentrations consecutively higher than standard over period. No detection As, Hg, Pb 2019 – 2020. There significant statistical differences between parameters seasons. IWQI revealed about 40% 2020 categorized as unsuitable drinking. range 72 7973 2020, 12 3020 2019, 21 1115 2018, 53 2246 2017. Most with high are located near burial pits African fever-infected swine. findings this could provide further information changes An Giang can be proposed other studies evaluate effectively.
