The main objective of the present study is to perform risk assessment groundwater contaminated by nitrate (NO3-) and evaluate suitability for domestic purposes in Palani region South India. Thirty samples were collected area. Various quality analysis parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, hardness, major cations (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+), anions (Cl-, SO42-, F-, CO32-, HCO3-) adopted this drinking water according 2011 World Health Organization (WHO) standards. Piper Gibbs's diagrams tested indicated that, due influence rock-water interactions, evaporation, reverse ion exchange, chemical composition varied. According index (WQI) mapping results, 46.67% sample locations was identified zones via GIS spatial analysis. Multivariate statistical methods, principal component analysis, cluster Pearson correlation matrix, applied better understand relationship between parameters. results demonstrated that 40% could be highly affected a high concentration. noncarcinogenic health risks among men, women, children reached 40, 50, 53%, respectively. illustrated women occurred at higher than did men region. sources contamination included discharge from households, uncovered septic tanks, leachate waste dump sites, excess utilization fertilizers agricultural sector. Furthermore, using hazard integrated method with conventional indexing approach ensures reliability can guaranteed, explored, appropriate remedial measures implemented.

Abstract The specific objective of the present is to evaluate human health issue due continuous consumption nitrate-contaminated groundwater among various age groups people. In study, 40 samples were collected during post-monsoon season, and major ions analysed in a laboratory. Chadha plot revealed that weathering parent rocks, ion exchange process leaching salts from rocks are primary sources contamination. Nitrate concentration varied 24 78 mg/L with mean 46.45 mg/L. Nitrogen pollution index (NPI) value divulged 40% 17.5% sample locations moderately significantly polluted elevated nitrate groundwater. risk assessment model issues which infants > kids children aged peoples adults. nitrate’s identified using synthetic fertilizers, uncovered septic tanks improper disposal household waste residential area. Therefore, periodic inspection water supply, check-up underground pipelines remedial measures should be taken reduce severe effects drinking study

One of the pivotal decision-making tools for sustainable management water resources various uses is accurate prediction quality. In present paper, multiple linear regression (MLR), radial basis function neural network (RBF-NN), and multilayer perceptron (MLP-NN) models were developed monitoring irrigation quality (IWQ) in Ojoto area, southeastern Nigeria. This paper first to integrate simultaneously implement these predictive methods modeling seven IWQ indices. Moreover, two scenarios considered. Scenario 1 represents predictions that utilized specific physicochemical parameters calculating indices as input variables while 2 pH, EC, Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Cl-, SO42-, HCO3- inputs. terms salinity hazard, most are unsuitable/poor irrigation. However, carbonate bicarbonate impact magnesium majority samples have good excellent IWQ. Seven agglomerative Q-mode dendrograms spatiotemporally classified based on Model validation metrics showed MLR, RBF-NN, MLP-NN performed well both scenarios, with minor variations.

The continuous intake of contaminated drinking water causes serious issues for human health. In order to estimate the suitability groundwater and irrigation, also conduct risk assessments various groups people, a total 43 sample locations in semi-arid southern part India were selected based on population density, we collected analyzed from major anions cations. present study’s novelty is integrating hydrochemical analysis with entropy quality index (EWQI), nitrate pollution (NPI) health assessment. results EWQI revealed that 44.19% need be treated before consumption. About 37.20% study region has high concentration groundwater. NPI 41.86% samples had moderate or significant levels. non-carcinogenic evaluation showed 6–12-year-old children are at higher than teenagers, adults elderly people area. natural sources other contamination rock–water interaction, weathering rock, dissolution carbonate minerals evaporation processes, anthropogenic decomposition organic substances dumping yards, uncovered septic tanks animal waste. suggest taking mitigation measures reduce improve sustainable planning management.
