This study focuses on the effects of different levels sodium selenite growth, selenium content, and antioxidant capacity black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens). The experiment used doses for treatment, including a basic diet with no supplements (control) diets supplemented 10 mg/kg (Se10), 20 (Se20), 30 (Se30), 40 (Se40) selenite, results show that supplementation significantly increases content improves utilization (P < 0.05). However, it also negatively affects growth performance other nutrients. optimal level depends ration enrichment overall health productivity fly.

Autophagy, one of the major intracellular degradation systems, plays an important role in maintaining normal cellular physiological functions and protecting organisms from different diseases. Selenium (Se), essential trace element, is involved many metabolic regulatory signaling events a key human health. In recent years, selenium nanoparticles (Se NPs) have attracted increasing attentions biomedical field due to their low toxicity, high bioavailability bioactivity. Taking advantage advanced biological activities, Se NPs can be used alone as potential therapeutic agents, or combine with other agents served carriers for development novel therapeutics. More interestingly, been widely reported affect autophagy signaling, which therefor allow against Here, this review suggested relationships between autophagy, followed by trends progresses regulation diseased conditions. importantly, work discussed roles mechanisms regulating, might enhance our understanding about how regulate disease treatment. This expected promote application regulators, benefit associated

Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) is an endemic, environmentally associated cartilage disease. Previous studies have shown that the environmental suspected pathogenic factors of KBD, T-2 toxin and low selenium, are involved in regulation inflammation, oxidative stress autophagy some tissues organs. In diseases, level cellular determines fate chondrocytes. However, whether KBD lesions, role selenium toxins injury still unclear. This work took classical AMPK/mTOR/ULK1 regulatory pathway as entry point to clarify relationship between chondrocyte autophagy. Transmission electron microscopy was used observe chondrocytes patients. qRT-PCR western blot were analyze expression markers. The rat model established by toxin, detected after 4- 12-week interventions. Chondrocyte found down-regulated. model, showed up-regulated trend when treated for a short time or concentration, increased. long at high concentrations, down-regulated trend, reduced even defective. conclusion, process lesion, may increase early stage, decrease late stage with progression lesion. Low affect pathway.

Abstract Selenium is an essential nutrient closely related to redox homeostasis in the body. A imbalance will adversely affect microenvironment inside and outside cell, leading cell death. Various types of death have been discovered recent years, but role(s) selenium associated mechanism(s) action require further elaboration. We review roles mechanisms necrosis, apoptosis, ferroptosis, autophagy, pyroptosis. Under normal conditions, inhibits pyroptosis by downregulating nuclear factor κB pathway, upregulating antiapoptotic proteins, decreasing oxidative stress, increasing antioxidant enzyme activity, enhancing mTOR NLRP3/caspase-1 thereby helping maintain physiological functions cells. On other hand, deficiency leads activation PI3K/AKT Notch/Hes1 pathways, causing a significant increase level stress organism, resulting In case malignancy, vivo metabolite inorganic selenium, hydrogen selenide, plays antitumor role inducing apoptosis ferroptosis tumor cells because its high activity. conclusion, adequate body for maintaining cellular reducing fibrotic alterations. Furthermore, metabolites may some clinical value therapy.
