Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn, commonly known as milk thistle, is an herbal medicine rich in silymarin, a bioflavonoid complex. Historically, silymarin was used for treating liver diseases, but recent studies highlight silymarin’s potential obesity management. This narrative review aims to provide in-depth examination of the existing knowledge and its secondary compounds concerning associated comorbidities, summarizing data from vitro, preclinical, clinical studies. Obesity significant public health issue, exacerbated during COVID-19 pandemic, major risk factor mortality. It contributes metabolic dysfunction, including oxidative stress, metainflammation, cardiovascular type 2 diabetes development. Silymarin has demonstrated benefits on insulin signaling lipid metabolism, well antioxidant anti-inflammatory properties at molecular level. Innovative also suggest prebiotic, positively influencing gut microbiota composition, key affected by obesity. These promising findings support anti-obesity action practice. Looking forward, using innovative complementary therapy could offer substantial natural promotion Nevertheless, further research into optimal doses cellular mechanisms still needed.

ABSTRACT Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) has attracted great considerations due to their high toxicity, teratogenicity, and carcinogenicity. In this study, four Zr‐MOFs were synthesized used comparative study catalytic performances of oxalic acid (OA) for Cr(VI) removal. Results showed that the removal efficiency was reached 65.91%, 78.64%, 53.58%, 96.32% by MOF‐525, MOF‐525(Co), MOF‐525(Zn), MOF‐525(Fe) in presence OA when initial concentration 100 mg·L −1 , respectively. The single‐factor experiments further improving MOF‐525(Fe)/OA demonstrated optimal conditions dosage 790 500 pH 2.0, system could be treat Cr(VI)‐containing wastewater at concentrations below 50 . Ionic strength studies indicated Na + K Mg 2+ Cl − SO 4 2− had little effect on reduction Cr(VI), while Ca (0.10 0.25 mol·L ), NO 3 (0.25 PO 3− ) significant inhibition effects. reusability stability excellent, it potential applications. Based results Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X‐ray photoelectron (XPS), Electron Paramagnetic Resonance spectrometer (EPR), possible mechanism proposed as follows: complexation with Fe 3+ first complexed produce CO 2 •− then combined Zr–O Fe–O clusters obtain activation energy, ability enhanced same time; finally, obtained electrons from sequentially reduced Cr(V) Cr(III).

Abstract The current study compared the effects of incorporated exposure to arsenic trioxide (As) and zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) on male reproductive hormones, oxidative stress, inflammatory biomarkers in adult rats each metal alone. A defensive trial with gallic acid (GA) has also been studied. total 60 Sprague Dawley were categorized into six groups: control, GA (20 mg/kg), ZnONPs (100 As (8 As, concurrently at same previous doses. regimens applied for days sequence. Current findings showed significant weight loss all groups, testicular weights significantly decreased combined groups. Testosterone, follicular stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone serum levels considerably reduced, while estradiol increased. Inducible nitric synthase (iNOS) immunoexpression was upregulated proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) downregulated. Moreover, there a elevation malondialdehyde, reduction superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase disruptive testes, prostate glands, seminal vesicle alterations experimental groups marked changes group. Additionally, present results revealed protective adverse rats. enhanced sperm picture, oxidant status, hormonal profile. Also, it modulates iNOS PCNA recovers histoarchitecture vesicles. Ultimately, may be promising safeguarding agent against As-induced disturbances parameters .
