During rapid economic development and urbanisation, land expansion in built-up areas is China's dominant land-use change type, resulting the loss of ecosystem service value (ESV). Economic main driving force for expansion. Under trend spatial separation production consumption, expanded embodied trade flows between regions as a scarce resource. Through trade, region can indirectly use from outside areas, which may affect within user provider regions. Regional ESV be affected by outer regions, although previous studies have seldom considered it. Accordingly, this study quantified whole China high resolution determined caused each province interregional interactions. The results found that total terrestrial ecosystems was 37.44 trillion yuan 2015, resulted 13.7 billion ESV. Due to north–south differences natural levels China, there significant heterogeneity expansion, with high-value mainly southern coastal areas. With regional interaction, leading flow direction north south, economically developing developed However, discrepancy actual users loss-bearers. Evident inequalities existed several provinces Overall, provides reference ecological harmony strategies context sustainable development.

Ecosystem services are the beneficial goods and that ecosystems provide to humans. Urbanization is an important feature of human social development. While promoting economic development, it also brings about land degradation, resource depletion, environmental pollution other problems, intensifying transformation natural into semi-natural artificial ecosystems, ultimately leading loss ecosystem service functions declining value. The study impact urbanization on value critical importance for conservation sustainable This examined spatio-temporal patterns urbanization’s impacts in Yellow River Basin from perspective heterogeneity. Findings: (1) Both (ESV) level (UL) were rise whole, but they significantly spatially negatively correlated mainly characterized by high–low spatial clustering “low ESV–high UL” “high ESV–low UL”. negative correlation was gradually weakened with development mode ecological restoration projects Basin. (2) five subsystems diverse. Landscape had a all regions; innovation changed having positive impact; demographic both impact. (3) To promote coordinated protection YRB, this paper proposes change model, implement zoning, formulate classified plans. compensates shortcomings current studies ignore different lack sufficient consideration heterogeneity characteristics ESVs, enriches theoretical understanding interrelationships between systems basin areas, provides scientific basis rational formulation urban planning policies region, which great practical significance.

The rapid urbanization process of urban agglomerations had complex and non-linear effects on various ecosystem services (ESs), particularly within mega-urban agglomerations. Previous studies have focused the impacts comprehensive ESs single However, research relationship between multi-dimensional different ES types across entire identification impact thresholds remains limited. This lack investigation has considerably hampered formulation targeted policies for development ecological management. Addressing these gaps, this study takes a holistic approach by taking BTH-UA, PRD-UA, YRD-UA as whole employs threshold regression model to measure types, along with identifying critical thresholds. results are follows: In terms temporal evolution, progressed most rapidly in contributing varying degrees decline. contrast, despite relatively low level rise. Spatially, exhibited “core-periphery” pattern both distribution. High levels were found clustered core regions, while elevated prevalent peripheries, indicating significant spatial disparities. population (PU) land (LU) carbon storage (CS) an inverted U-shaped curve 272 people/km2 1.063%, respectively. effect LU food production (FP) 0.704%. findings indicate that PU exhibit more characteristics systems. underscore significance regulating density expansion intensity improve offers valuable support policy sustainable planning large clusters.

Abstract Enhancing the understanding and management of ecosystem services (ESs) supply demand under influence global change is crucial for sustaining human well‐being promoting sustainable development. However, comprehension changes in service dynamics face complex disturbances remains limited. This study focuses on four representative ESs northern Liaodong Bay, a typical estuary wetland, to elucidate alterations these comprehend impact mechanisms arising from reclamation activities. The findings reveal following key insights: between 1993 2020, water yield disparity became increasingly pronounced, while equilibrium carbon storage shifted surplus balance. In contrast, excess supply–demand food landscape esthetics remained relatively consistent. delves deeper into non‐linear relationship activities relationships, with each exhibiting distinct patterns. As intensity rises, ratio exhibits varying trends: demonstrate an inverted U‐shaped relationship, follows pattern, progressively decline. By identifying thresholds, different strategies should be applied areas exceeding falling below constraints guidance being necessary former latter, respectively. Random forests geographically weighted regression methods were utilized characterize contribution spatial drivers CCD. The results showed that: (1) except for habitat quality, ESSDR other three types as well a decreasing trend, exhibited increasing trend; (2) Although CCD was generally increasing, significant portion (78.51%) regions still remained uncoordinated, with relatively better shown around Guanzhong urban agglomeration, which has higher level; (3) primarily influenced by local financial income, secondary industry, temperature forces.
