A series of caffeic acid derivatives were synthesized via a modified Wittig reaction which is very important tool in organic chemistry for the construction unsaturated carbon–carbon bonds. All reactions performed water medium at 90 °C. The aqueous worked best when one unprotected hydroxyl group was present phenyl ring. olefinations conditions also conducted with good yields presence two groups. When number groups increased to three, worse, and 12, 13, 18 obtained 74%, 37%, 70% yields, respectively. Nevertheless, using as essential an elegant one-pot synthesis greener method, can be safe alternative implementation chemistry. compounds tested their antioxidant activity, showed highest activities. Moreover, all displayed no cytotoxicity, therefore used pharmaceutical or cosmetic industry.

Abstract Oxidative stress occurs when excess oxidative free radicals are produced in cells, which can overwhelm the normal antioxidant capacity and play an important role many disease states. Thus, advanced functional materials mimic intracellular defense system have a huge potential to become candidates for curing triggered diseases. Herein, high‐performance nanoplatform is developed with green mild strategy by combining mimic‐enzymatic (Fe 3 O 4 ) nonenzymatic (tannic acid (TA)) constructing @ TAn nanoflowers (NFs)). Owing excellent peroxidase (POD)‐mimic catalase (CAT)‐mimic capacities of Fe various conditions, ability TA flower‐like morphology, NFs effectively scavenge multiple reactive oxygen nitrogen species. In vitro experiments verify that demonstrate synergetic antioxidative properties, be used protect blood cellular components against damage. Meanwhile, vivo exhibit therapeutic effects systemic inflammation on endotoxemia mice promote wound healing owing anti‐inflammatory properties. this expands toolbox shows applications treatment.

Chalcones are precursors of flavonoid biosynthesis in plants. Both flavonoids and chalcones intensively investigated because a large spectrum their biological activities. Among others, anticancer antiangiogenic effects account for the research interest these substances. Because an essential role cancer growth metastasis, angiogenesis is considered to be promising target treatment. Currently used agents either synthetic compounds or monoclonal antibodies. However, there some limitations use including toxicity high price, making search new very attractive. Nowadays it well known that several natural may modulate basic steps angiogenesis. A lot studies, also from our lab, showed phytochemicals, polyphenols, potent modulators This review paper focused on effect discusses possible underlying cellular molecular mechanisms.

Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) released from plastics into water, soil and air are significant environmental health problem. Continuous exposure of humans to these substances results not only the slow biodegradation but also their ubiquitous use as industrial materials everyday products. Exposure POPs may lead neurodegenerative disorders, induce inflammation, hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, insulin resistance, allergies, metabolic diseases, carcinogenesis. This has spurred an increasing intense search for natural compounds with protective effects against harmful components plastics. In this paper, we discuss current state knowledge concerning functions polyphenols toxic POPs: acrylonitrile, polychlorinated biphenyls, dioxins, phthalates bisphenol A. We review in detail papers last two decades, analyzing terms sources demonstrate how be used counteract POPs. The effect impact on level activity antioxidant system, enzymes involved elimination xenobiotics, a consequence - reactive oxygen species (ROS). Polyphenols present daily diet play role derived plastics, interaction is related, among others, properties compounds.
